What should I look for when buying a used Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The RDX’s official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.

Which Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura RDX offers these trims:

• RDX: The entry version includes the standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, a panoramic glass sunroof, ambient lighting, quality interior materials, and AcuraWatch; it suits buyers who want the core RDX experience and the best-value starting point.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look with gloss black exterior accents and a finned rear diffuser panel, plus the A-Spec interior treatment and available red upholstery.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the most fully equipped version, adding full leather upholstery, 20-inch multi-spoke wheels, and the surround-view camera system.

What Acura RDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura RDX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2020.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also often sit in a sweet spot where newer features and broader availability overlap.

What is the Acura RDX's resale value?

Most Acura RDX model years are down year over year, and several recent years show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favour if you are shopping used, because it opens up more room to find value in newer examples. The smallest changes are clustered among the older and mid-cycle years, which suggests those versions have been moving more steadily.

The 2015, 2021, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Acura RDX safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2023: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

AcuraWatch is the standard safety package on the latest model, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

For the safest used buy, the 2020 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Acura RDX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −11.18% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.2%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 32.6% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $45,121 CAD. The Acura RDX offers a roomy cabin, strong handling, and a premium feel that make it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Under the RDX’s hood, a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine supplies a robust 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and the official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.
• Tech: The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, SiriusXM satellite radio, AcuraLink connected services with access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 10.2-inch display.
• Safety: AcuraWatch is the standard safety package, and the latest model adds low-speed front and rear braking more widely across the range, with a surround-view camera system on the Platinum Elite A-Spec.
• Starting price: Prices range from $57,526 CAD to $66,356 CAD, including the destination charge and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
