New & Used 2026 Toyota Camry for Sale near Lake Cowichan, BC

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Toyota Camry earns a 5/5 user rating and an 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It is built around practicality rather than flash, and that shows in the way it is positioned as affordable, efficient, and safe. In Canada, it is one of the few midsize sedans still sold in North America, and every trim comes with a standard hybrid powertrain. That makes it a strong fit if you want a mainstream sedan that keeps running costs low and handles everyday use well.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, cargo space is limited, and the stereo is lacking. Even so, the Camry’s comfort, efficiency, and sensible character make it easy to recommend for buyers who value substance over excitement.

35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Camry is described as dependable, cheap to own, and reassuringly sensible. Its hybrid-only setup is presented as tried-and-true, and the model’s overall focus on practicality supports the impression that it is built for low-stress ownership. Toyota’s performance content also points to a robust hybrid system rather than a complicated powertrain.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 and the Camry’s strong safety results add to the sense that this is a car designed to age well. If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical drama and more about living with its modest cargo space and everyday-driving compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE FWD is the entry point, while the SE Upgrade FWD adds equipment, the SE Upgrade AWD brings all-wheel drive, and the XLE AWD and XSE AWD sit higher in the range. The Nightshade package adds trendy blacked-out styling to the SE Upgrade AWD, but it is still based on that trim’s equipment. Base-trim buyers should pay attention to the simpler cabin and the six-speaker audio setup.
• Powertrain: Every 2026 Camry uses a hybrid system with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and electric motors. FWD models make 225 horsepower, while AWD versions add a rear electric motor and increase output to 232 hp. Fuel economy ranges from 5.0 to 5.5 L/100 km combined, depending on trim and drivetrain.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, road sign assist, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, and Proactive Driving Assist are also standard.
• Infotainment: More affordable trims use an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The larger 12.3-inch screen is reserved for the XLE and XSE in Canada, and it adds cloud-based navigation, destination assistance, and an Intelligent Assistant voice system.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD Camrys have an official Natural Resources Canada rating of 5.0 L/100 km combined, and the lineup ranges from 5.0 to 5.5 L/100 km combined depending on trim and drivetrain.

Which 2026 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: SE FWD, SE Upgrade FWD, SE Upgrade AWD, XLE AWD, and XSE AWD.

Here's the short version:

• SE FWD: This is the simplest way into the Camry lineup, and it still gives you the standard hybrid powertrain, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost Camry and do not need AWD.
• SE Upgrade FWD: This is the best-value trim if you want a little more equipment without moving too far up the price ladder. It keeps the efficient hybrid setup and adds more content than the base SE while staying focused on value.
• SE Upgrade AWD: This is the smart pick if you want the added traction of AWD and still want to stay in the more affordable part of the range. It is also the trim that can be paired with the Nightshade package for a sportier look.
• XLE AWD: This is the comfort-oriented choice, and it is one of the trims that gets the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen in Canada. Choose it if you want a more upscale Camry experience.
• XSE AWD: This is the most style- and sport-leaning trim, and it also gets the 12.3-inch touchscreen. It suits you best if you want the most expressive Camry without leaving the hybrid-only lineup.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every trim, so you do not need to move up the range to get the core safety package.

Is the 2026 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2026 Toyota Camry earns five-star ratings in every individual NHTSA assessment, and the IIHS names it a Top Safety Pick+.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every Camry and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, road sign assist, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, and Proactive Driving Assist are also standard.

One caveat is that lane-centring can feel unnatural in some curves, and adaptive cruise control can scrub off too much speed in tighter bends. Otherwise, the safety package is broad and well-rounded.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition package for the SE Upgrade AWD and a new Cosmos Blue paint colour.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It launched the Camry’s ninth generation with a fresh hybrid-only identity.

The bottom line: If you want the latest Camry with the current trim mix and the added Nightshade package, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you are shopping on price and the 2025’s fresh redesign already covers your needs, it remains the value-minded alternative.
