New & Used 2026 Subaru Crosstrek for Sale near Ashcroft, BC

Is the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is a good fit if you want a simple, practical compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive, generous ground clearance, protective bodywork, and pedestal-style roof rails. Subaru keeps the formula straightforward with a four-cylinder boxer engine and a continuously variable transmission, which makes the Crosstrek feel well suited to daily use and winter driving rather than overly complicated.

For 2026, the lineup also adds a hybrid powertrain based on a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with Subaru saying it delivers 194 horsepower, improved fuel economy, and nearly all the available cargo space. In Canada, that hybrid comes exclusively in a fully equipped Limited trim. The broader model also benefits from an 11.6-inch Subaru Starlink touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims, plus a new Subaru EyeSight driver assist package with wider-view cameras.

There are trade-offs to keep in mind. The Crosstrek’s straightforward design helps it stay approachable, but it is not the most technologically complex vehicle in its class, and the base setup is not aimed at strong acceleration. Even so, it remains appealing because it combines everyday practicality, all-weather confidence, and a useful mix of trim levels and equipment in a compact package. 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is built around a simple formula that helps support its reliability case: a four-cylinder boxer engine, a continuously variable transmission, and standard all-wheel drive. Subaru’s emphasis on straightforward hardware, along with the Crosstrek’s practical design, is part of why it appeals to buyers who want a small utility vehicle that feels easy to live with.

The model’s appeal also comes from its everyday usefulness rather than from complicated technology, which can be a plus for long-term ownership. For used buyers, that generally means a lower-risk ownership experience than a more complex vehicle, especially if you want something that is meant to handle commuting, errands, and winter driving without much fuss.
