How much does the 2026 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 14.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 941 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for Canadian shoppers.

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 2026 RAM 1500 earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It stands out for its wide range of configurations, including multiple cab sizes, bed lengths, and powertrain choices, so you can tailor it to different kinds of truck use. The returning Hemi V8 adds character, while the broader lineup also includes more powerful options and premium interior materials in higher-end trims.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and there is no base two-door work truck. Even so, 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 1500’s appeal is tied to its broad capability and familiar truck character, including the returning Hemi V8 and a lineup that can be configured for work, comfort, or off-road use. Its expert assessment also points to strong performance and technology, which usually helps a truck feel well sorted over time.

The Hemi’s smooth, traditional V8 character should feel reassuring if you want a proven-feeling powertrain, and the truck’s standard eight-speed automatic and standard 4WD in Canada add to its everyday usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a trim or package that leaves you wanting more safety equipment or value for the money.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Tradesman models are the most basic, with cloth seats and lots of plastic trim, while higher trims add chrome grilles, leather, open-pore wood, and high-end leather surfaces. The biggest feature gaps show up at the lower end of the range.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a base 3.6-litre V6 with eTorque, a 3.0-litre Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, a high-output Hurricane inline-six, or the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with eTorque. The turbocharged sixes deliver more power, and the standard-output Hurricane also brings better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross traffic alert. Ram’s hands-free Active Driving Assist is included with the Advanced Safety Group II package, while Evasive Steer Assist, Intersection Collision Warning, and traffic sign recognition are standard on Tungsten and available on some other models through option packages.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 comes with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Screen setups vary by trim, with a 3.5-inch display on base Tradesman models and larger 7-inch or 12-inch driver displays on most others. Wireless charging is available, and a 10.25-inch passenger screen and head-up display can be added on some trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard-output 3.0-litre Hurricane delivers superior fuel economy by 1.6 L/100 km compared with the Hemi V8.

Which 2026 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 1500 is offered in 12 trim levels: Tradesman, Express, Warlock, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, RHO, Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten, and the other trims described in the lineup.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, but it is quite basic inside and uses the smaller 3.5-inch driver display. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and can live without many comfort upgrades.
• Express: This trim keeps the lower-end positioning but adds a bit more personality than Tradesman, while still using the standard six-speaker audio setup. It suits you if you want a simpler truck without moving far up the price ladder.
• Warlock: Warlock sits with the lower-priced models and keeps the blacked-out look, while still staying closer to the value end of the range. It is a good fit if you want style without jumping to a luxury trim.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more visual polish and a more appealing cabin without going too far upmarket. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the trim to focus on.
• Laramie: Laramie brings leather, a smarter cabin, and available premium audio, so it is the right step up if comfort matters more than pure value. It suits you if you want a more upscale daily driver.
• Rebel: Rebel is the off-road-oriented choice in the lineup and pairs that character with stronger equipment and available premium audio. Choose it if you want a truck that leans toward trail use and a more rugged personality.
• RHO: RHO is another off-road-focused model, positioned for buyers who want that tougher character in a more specialised package. It is for you if off-road intent matters more than mainstream comfort.
• Limited: Limited adds open-pore wood trim and standard Harman Kardon audio, giving it a distinctly premium feel. It is a strong pick if you want luxury without going all the way to the top.
• Longhorn: Longhorn also gets open-pore wood and a high-end cabin presentation, with a more distinctive upscale personality. It suits buyers who want a premium truck with a more traditional luxury-truck vibe.
• Tungsten: Tungsten is the flagship, with high-end leather surfaces, the 23-speaker Klipsch system, and the most advanced safety content. Buy this if you want the most luxurious and most fully equipped RAM 1500.

The safety package is strongest on Tungsten, while some advanced driver-assistance features are only available on select trims or through option packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced trucks.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 941 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $74,799 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $74,799 CAD sits slightly below last year's $87,108 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make resale a little tougher for current owners in the near term. If you buy now, you may benefit from softer pricing, but future resale will depend on how well the truck holds demand as the market settles.

Trims with stronger equipment and broader appeal should be easier to move later than more basic versions. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2026 RAM 1500 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA for the Quad Cab, while the Crew Cab loses a star even though its frontal, side, and rollover scores match the smaller cab’s ratings.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross traffic alert. Ram’s hands-free Active Driving Assist is included with the Advanced Safety Group II package, but it requires driver attentiveness and only works on certain roads.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, and some of the more advanced systems are limited to higher trims or option packages. The IIHS had not released ratings for this model year at the time of writing.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The returning Hemi V8 gives this year a distinctive character and broad trim flexibility.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $62,771 CAD, the 2025 costs less than the current year's $74,799 CAD average.
• It brings a major refresh, more new technology, and new powertrain options.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the returning Hemi V8 and a wide range of configurations, especially if you value this year’s market softness. Consider the 2025 if you want a lower purchase price and are comfortable with the previous year’s refreshed formula.
