New & Used 2026 Kia Sportage for Sale nearScarborough, ON

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage a good car?

The 2026 Kia Sportage earns an 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

It’s a compact crossover that has grown into a true rival for popular crossovers, and for 2026 it gets revised styling that helps keep it looking fresh. The appeal is the blend of style, safety, and technology, which makes it easy to see why it remains a compelling choice in the segment.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a transmission that could react more quickly. If you want a compact SUV that leans more toward design, safety, and tech than driving excitement, the Sportage fits that brief well.

38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage reliable?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is presented as a well-rounded compact SUV with a strong warranty and a powertrain lineup that includes conventional gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options. The gas powertrain is described as doing just fine, while the hybrid and plug-in hybrid are noted as more refined thanks to their turbocharged and electrified setups.

Kia also backs the Sportage with a 5-year/100,00-kilometre limited warranty, including the powertrain, which is a useful ownership perk for used buyers. That said, the base gas engine is the least powerful option in the lineup, so long-term ownership risk is more about choosing the right powertrain and trim for your needs than about any single glaring weakness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Kia Sportage?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X-Line models add off-road appearance packages with different front and rear bumpers, a tread-like stitching pattern for SynTex artificial leather upholstery, and all-season tires on 19-inch wheels. The EX Premium trim also has 19-inch wheels, while other trims come with 17-inch or 18-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions use a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor integrated with the transmission.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and lane following assist. Higher trim levels also feature Highway Driving Assist, which adds automated lane centring. Front and rear parking sensors are available.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard along with SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless phone charging is standard on all but the base LX trim level. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on the X-Line Limited trim, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system is standard on X-Line Limited along with a head-up display and digital key functionality.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the non-hybrid Sportage at 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined with FWD and 8.9 L/100 km combined with AWD. The Sportage Hybrid is rated at 6.7 L/100 km combined, and the plug-in hybrid gets up to 53 kilometres of all-electric driving.

Which 2026 Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, LX AWD, X-Line, EX, EX Premium, and X-Line Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point and the cheapest way into the Sportage, but it’s also the one that misses out on wireless phone charging. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with the essentials.
• LX AWD: This is the better-value choice if you want all-wheel drive without moving too far up the price ladder. It keeps the core Sportage formula intact while adding traction for Canadian conditions.
• X-Line: This is the trim to consider if you want a more distinctive look and the off-road appearance package treatment. It adds visual flair, but the value case is less compelling than the more straightforward trims.
• EX: This is the trim most shoppers should start with if they want a balanced mix of equipment and value. It avoids the bare-bones feel of the LX while staying away from the pricier luxury-style upgrades.
• EX Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top. It adds 19-inch wheels and sits in the sweet spot for shoppers who want more content without overreaching.
• X-Line Limited: This is the most feature-rich version, with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Harman Kardon premium audio, head-up display, and digital key functionality. Choose it if you want the most technology and convenience features.

Higher trim levels also feature the Highway Driving Assist system, and the surround-view camera system and blind-spot view monitor are available.
