Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearKelowna, BC

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns 7.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

As a three-row crossover SUV, it is aimed at you if you want the space and practicality of a large family vehicle without moving to a truck-based SUV. The Traverse’s strengths are clear: it offers a pleasant ride, lots of safety equipment, and a cabin that is designed to work well for family use. It also brings excellent technology and a broad, useful interior.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The engine is gruff, power is only mediocre, and its size makes it too big to handle well. It also can’t tow as much as some full-size alternatives, even though it delivers crossover ride quality that is better than body-on-frame SUVs.

With 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is presented as a well-equipped family SUV with a strong safety focus and a generally good ride, but its powertrain refinement is not a highlight. The engine is described as gruff, and the overall performance score is modest compared with its other category results.

The performance notes also point to a mixed ownership experience: the turbocharged four-cylinder has adequate power, but it is not especially smooth or quiet, and the vehicle’s size can make it feel cumbersome in everyday driving. On the positive side, the standard active noise cancellation and the generally controlled ride help soften the experience.

For long-term ownership, you should expect a capable family hauler rather than a class-leading refinement story, so the main risk is living with the Traverse’s less polished powertrain and large-footprint driving feel over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. The RS adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats. The LT is the value pick if you want the core Traverse strengths without stretching the budget.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD. It has adequate power, but acceleration is only average and the engine note is not especially pleasant.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors. The Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, Google Maps, a wireless phone charger, remote start, and eight years of OnStar Basics. The system is quick and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 on the highway, and 11.1 combined.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, Z71, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice if you want the Traverse’s core strengths at the lowest price. It already gives you the roomy cabin, strong technology, and a long list of standard safety features, so you do not need to move up unless you want more comfort or style.
• Z71: This is the trim to choose if you want the off-road-oriented look and the added capability described in the cost-effectiveness notes. It is the most specialised option in the lineup.
• RS: This is the style-and-comfort upgrade, with leather upholstery, more seat and steering-column adjustment, driver’s seat memory, and heated outboard second-row seats.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, and the available driver-assistance upgrades add Super Cruise and other convenience features if you want more advanced tech.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors.

If you want more capability, the available Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, and a driver attention monitor, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.

The main caveat is that the Traverse missed Top Safety Pick+ because of an Acceptable rating in the updated moderate front overlap crash test.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It combines a pleasant ride, lots of safety equipment, and broad family-friendly practicality.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds standard trailering equipment and easier access to the Traverse’s towing capacity.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of space, technology, and safety in this generation, the 2026 is the better target. If towing value matters more than updated-year shopping, the 2025 is worth a look for price-conscious buyers.
