New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearThunder Bay, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns 7.3/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a three-row crossover SUV that is meant to cover the ground between minivans and full-size body-on-frame SUVs, so you get a spacious family-focused layout without moving to a truck-based SUV. The Traverse also brings a pleasant ride and a strong safety equipment list, which suit shoppers who want a large, practical vehicle with crossover road manners.

The trade-offs are clear: it can’t tow as much as some larger rivals, it is less accessible than a minivan, and the engine is described as gruff with only mediocre power. It is also a big vehicle, so it does not handle especially well.

With 34.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still a meaningful amount of market choice for shoppers.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is presented as a well-equipped family SUV with a pleasant ride and a strong safety focus, which supports confidence for everyday use. Its standard powertrain is a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD, and the expert assessment notes that the drivetrain has adequate power for normal driving.

Chevrolet also includes standard active noise cancellation, though it is not especially effective at masking the engine’s rougher character. The available Super Cruise system and other driver-assistance features work as intended, but hands-free driving still requires attention and can hand control back in difficult construction zones.

If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is that the Traverse’s size, engine refinement, and complexity can make it less satisfying than its strengths suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. The RS adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD in Canada. The engine has adequate power, but it is described as gruff and not especially quick.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat. The Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, wireless phone charging, remote start, and eight years of OnStar Basics. The system is quick and intuitive, and the screen is easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, Z71, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice because it is the most affordable model and already includes the features that make the Traverse appealing, including lots of accessible space, excellent technology, and plenty of safety features.
• Z71: This trim is the one to choose if you want the off-road-oriented version, with moderate off-road ability and a more rugged character.
• RS: This is the sporty-looking trim, with black exterior trim and more comfort and convenience equipment than the LT.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, and the available driver-assistance upgrades add even more capability if you want them.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It combines a spacious cabin, excellent technology, and strong safety equipment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It added standard trailering equipment and broadened the Traverse’s usefulness.

The bottom line: The 2026 Traverse is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of space, tech, and safety in this generation. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 can still make sense, especially if you value its added trailering capability.
