New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near Lac Simon, QC

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns 7.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

As a three-row crossover SUV, it is aimed at you if you want crossover ride quality and space that can stand in for a minivan or a full-size body-on-frame SUV. The Traverse’s strengths are clear: it has a spacious interior, a pleasant ride, and lots of safety equipment. It also brings excellent technology and a cabin that is well laid out for everyday use.

The trade-offs are just as clear. The engine is gruff, power is mediocre, and its size can make it too big to handle well. It also can’t tow as much as larger body-on-frame SUVs, so it is best viewed as a family-focused people mover rather than a heavy-duty hauler.

With 32.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is presented as a well-equipped, family-focused crossover with a strong safety and technology package, but it also has a powertrain that is described as gruff and only adequately powerful. Its standard active noise cancellation does not fully mask the engine’s sound, and the vehicle’s size can make it cumbersome in daily use.

The performance notes suggest the drivetrain is competent rather than impressive: the turbocharged four-cylinder has adequate power, but acceleration is slow for the class and the transmission can need time to respond. The cost-effectiveness notes also point you toward the most affordable trim if you want the core strengths without extra complexity.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is more about living with the Traverse’s compromises than expecting a major standout in refinement or ease of use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. The RS adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats. The Z71 stands out with red front tow hooks and knobby all-terrain tires.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD. It has adequate power, but the 0 to 100 km/h time is around eight seconds and the engine note is not pleasant.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors. The Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system. The Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, Apple Music, Amazon Music, a wireless phone charger, and remote start. The base audio system has six speakers, with a 12-speaker Bose system available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined. In testing, it averaged 11.8 L/100 km over 200 kilometres of mixed driving.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, Z71, RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice because it gives you the Traverse’s core appeal at the lowest price. You still get the spacious cabin, strong technology, and a long list of standard safety features, so you are not giving up the essentials.
• Z71: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking Traverse and value the red tow hooks and all-terrain tires. It is the trim for buyers who want the off-road-oriented appearance and hardware cues.
• RS: Pick this if you want the most upscale feel in the lineup, with leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, and heated outboard second-row seats.

The standard safety package is already extensive, while Super Cruise and the surround-view camera system are available through packages on higher-equipped vehicles.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you should shop carefully and compare condition, equipment, and pricing across listings.

• Inventory: There are 139 listings available.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns a Top Safety Pick from the insurance-industry-backed Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and earns five-star ratings from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors.

The available Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system. The Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.

The main caveat is that the Traverse earned Acceptable ratings in the updated moderate front overlap crash test and for vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention, which kept it from the higher IIHS honour.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It combines strong safety equipment with excellent technology and a spacious, family-friendly cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds standard trailering equipment and broadens appeal with a new Sun and Wheel Package.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of safety, technology, and space, the 2026 is the better target. If you are shopping with a tighter budget, the 2025 can still make sense, especially if you value its standard trailering setup and can find a well-priced example.
