New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near Haileybury, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a three-row crossover SUV that is meant to cover the ground between minivans and full-size body-on-frame SUVs, so you get a broad-appeal family vehicle with a pleasant ride and lots of safety equipment. The trade-offs are clear, though: it can’t tow as much as some larger rivals, it has similar space to a minivan but is less accessible, and the engine is described as gruff with only mediocre power.

For shoppers who want a spacious, comfortable crossover rather than a truck-based SUV, that mix makes sense. The market also shows 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is presented as a well-rounded family SUV with a pleasant ride, strong safety equipment, and a powertrain that is adequate rather than exciting. Its standard active noise cancellation is meant to help, but the engine note still comes through as a drawback.

The 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD, and the vehicle’s performance is described as controlled and more composed than a body-on-frame SUV. That said, the engine is noisy and the power delivery is only average, so long-term ownership is likely to feel more about practicality than refinement.

Chevrolet also includes a broad set of standard safety features, and the available Super Cruise system adds a high-end driver-assistance layer. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you may be living with a large, heavy crossover whose refinement and powertrain character are not class-leading.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. The RS adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats. The LT is the value pick if you want the core Traverse strengths without stretching the budget.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD. It has adequate power, but the engine is gruff and the vehicle is not especially quick.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors. Super Cruise is available through the Enhanced Driving package, and the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, wireless phone charging, and remote start. The system also supports over-the-air-style connected services through OnStar Basics and is generally easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, Z71, RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice because it delivers the Traverse’s core appeal at the lowest price. You still get the spacious cabin, excellent technology, and a strong safety list, so it makes the most sense for most buyers.
• Z71: This trim adds red front tow hooks, knobby all-terrain tires, and a more rugged look. It is the one to consider if you want the off-road-oriented styling and the modest extra capability described in the content.
• RS: This is the sporty-looking, more upscale choice, with black exterior trim and added comfort features such as leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory, and heated outboard second-row seats.

The safety content also notes that Super Cruise is available through the Enhanced Driving package, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system and other convenience features.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors.

The available Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system. The Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.

The main caveat is that the Traverse missed Top Safety Pick+ because of an Acceptable rating in the updated moderate front overlap crash test.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It combines a pleasant ride, lots of safety equipment, and broad family-vehicle appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds standard trailering equipment and easier access to the Traverse’s towing capability.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with strong safety, excellent tech, and a roomy three-row layout, the 2026 is the better default choice. If towing value matters more than the latest model year, the 2025 is worth a look for price-sensitive buyers.
