New & Used 2026 BMW X3 for Sale nearStratford, ON

Is the 2026 BMW X3 a good car?

The 2026 BMW X3 earns a 6.67/10 expert rating, and it’s a compact luxury crossover that aims to give you sport-sedan feel with SUV practicality. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

BMW’s own positioning and our test results point to a vehicle that is fun to drive, comfortable, and good value for money, with the base X3 30 xDrive described as good enough that you may prefer its savings over the M50’s extra speed and capability. The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarising, the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is quirky.

For Canadian used shoppers, that makes the X3 appealing if you want a premium-feeling daily driver with strong dynamics and broad usability, but you should go in expecting some cabin and tech compromises. With 40.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find one at a sensible price.

Is the 2026 BMW X3 reliable?

The 2026 BMW X3 is presented as a well-rounded compact luxury SUV, and its performance hardware and standard all-wheel drive suggest a robust mechanical package for everyday use. The straight-six’s 48-volt mild hybrid system helps make the automatic engine stop/start system barely noticeable, which is a nice refinement touch.

BMW also includes a four-year/80,000-kilometre warranty, which helps support ownership confidence. On the downside, the X3’s technology is described as quirky, and the test vehicle showed some real-world behaviour that suggests the systems can be fussy even when they’re sophisticated.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright mechanical weakness and more about living with complex electronics, touch controls, and driver-assistance behaviour over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW X3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base X3 30 xDrive is the value play, while the M50 adds a more upscale feel, stronger performance hardware, and a more expensive, more aggressive character. The base model’s interior upgrades for 2026 are worth checking, especially if you want the better-value version without stepping up to the M50.
• Powertrain: The X3 30 xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 255 horsepower, while the M50 uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder with 393 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. Both include all-wheel drive, and both benefit from the 48-volt mild hybrid system.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and an active blind-spot monitor that can add steering. The optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch digital driver display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect adds cloud-based navigation, Augmented View video, a BMW app store, in-vehicle gaming, and video streaming capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 8.6 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 9.8 L/100 km on a mountainous route.

Which 2026 BMW X3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 BMW X3 is offered in 2 trim levels: 30 xDrive and M50.

Here's the short version:

• 30 xDrive: This is the best-value choice if you want the X3’s core strengths without paying for the M50’s extra speed. It’s still quick, standard with AWD, and can be made more engaging with the optional M Sport Package, 21-inch wheels, M Sport brakes, and adaptive damping suspension.
• M50: Choose this if you want the most powerful and performance-focused X3. The turbocharged inline six, M Sport rear differential, M Sport brakes, Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering, and exclusive exhaust system make it the enthusiast pick, but it comes at a much higher price.

The standard safety equipment is strong, and the optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 BMW X3?

This looks like a favourable time to shop for a used 2026 BMW X3, especially if you’re comparing listings carefully and want room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 107 listings available.

That combination suggests you have a meaningful number of choices, and a healthy share of them are already tagged as strong deals.

Is the 2026 BMW X3 safe?

The 2026 BMW X3 earns Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS and receives a mix of four- and five-star ratings from NHTSA, resulting in an overall four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips the X3 with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and an active blind-spot monitor that can add steering to help prevent unsafe lane changes. The optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free traffic jam assist.

The main caveat is that the X3’s driver-assistance tech can be overly reactive at times, so you should test the systems carefully on your own routes before buying.

Should I buy a 2026 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• BMW says the base model looks and feels a little more upscale inside.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers alluring proportions, unusual design, and impressive technology.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the X3 with a slightly improved base interior and a market that offers decent deal availability, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you’re shopping mainly on price and want the core X3 experience, the 2025 remains a strong alternative worth cross-shopping.
