Used 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale near New Mexico

How much does the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 11.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 863 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 6/10 from our experts.

The model scores 6/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out for its German look and feel, and Volkswagen has corrected the last generation’s user interface issues, which should make the cabin easier to live with day to day. It is best suited to you if you want a handsome, refined compact SUV with a premium-leaning character rather than a standout performance or utility leader.

Trade-offs: It does not separate itself much from the crowded compact SUV field, and it is held back by not much cargo space.

With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is presented as a comprehensive improvement over its predecessor, and Volkswagen says it does not have any drawbacks that could be considered a deal breaker.

Its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder delivers power more smoothly and linearly than before, with fewer surges or slow reactions. The cabin is also tuned for comfort, with a quiet ride and well-silenced road noise at highway speeds.

Volkswagen also notes that the base model comes very well equipped, and the Tiguan’s standard safety and driver-assist features functioned as they should during testing. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that it remains a mainstream compact SUV with no clear standout advantage, so you should prioritise condition and maintenance history over badge appeal alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Trendline trim is well equipped, but higher trims add more premium touches and the top trim brings illuminated exterior details and a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic, and 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard in Canada.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, safe passenger exit warnings, parking sensors, automatic high beams, Emergency Assist, and post-collision braking. The Highline R-Line adds a head-up display, surround-view camera system, and traffic sign reader.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. The top trim upgrades to a 15-inch display with native navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel consumption at 10.5 L/100 km in city driving, 7.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line sport appearance package, Highline R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the best-value choice if you want the Tiguan’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. It already comes very well equipped, so you are not starting from a stripped-down base model.
• Comfortline: This is the sensible step-up if you want a little more equipment and a more polished feel without jumping to the top trim. It should suit you if you want a balanced middle ground.
• Comfortline R-Line sport appearance package: Choose this if you want the sport appearance treatment and are willing to pay more for style-focused upgrades rather than major capability changes.
• Highline R-Line: This is the trim to buy if you want the most features, including the head-up display, surround-view camera system, traffic sign reader, illuminated exterior details, and the 15-inch screen with native navigation.

The standard safety package is strong across the range, while the Highline R-Line adds the most advanced convenience and visibility features.

What is the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $39,581 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,666 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Tiguan is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.38% compared with last year.
• It corrects the last generation’s user interface issues while adding a more refined cabin.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,437 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $39,581 CAD average.
• It offers value-focused upgrades and a more polished feel than many shoppers may expect.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the redesigned Tiguan’s improved cabin, stronger tech, and current-market inventory. If price is your top priority, the 2024 is the better value play, especially if you can live with its older-generation compromises.
