Used 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale near Forest, ON

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 6/10 from our experts. The model scores 6/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as the only compact SUV in its class with that German look and feel, and it gets the fundamentals right with a redesigned cabin, a quieter driving experience, and a comfortable ride. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a handsome crossover that feels relaxed and easy to live with rather than flashy or especially sporty.

The trade-offs are straightforward: it does not separate itself much from the rest of the segment, and it is limited by not having much cargo space.

With 37.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent amount of choice if you like the Tiguan’s formula.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is presented as a comprehensive improvement over its predecessor, with a redesigned package that corrects the last generation’s user interface issues and makes incremental improvements throughout the vehicle. Its powertrain is described as delivering power more smoothly and linearly, with fewer surges or slow reactions, and the cabin is tuned for comfort and quietness in everyday use.

Volkswagen also includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features, and the system behaviour described in testing was calm and free of false alarms or oversensitivity. That said, this is a new redesign, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is still something you should weigh carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Trendline comes very well equipped, while higher trims add niceties rather than major changes to the Tiguan’s character. The Highline R-Line adds more visible premium touches, including an illuminated VW badge and light bar.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission, and 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard in Canada. The setup is tuned more for smooth, confident everyday driving than for sportiness.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, safe passenger exit warnings, parking sensors, automatic high beams, Emergency Assist, and post-collision braking. The Highline R-Line adds a head-up display, surround-view camera system, and traffic sign reader.
• Infotainment: All models get a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. The top trim adds a 15-inch display with native navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel consumption at 10.5 L/100 km in the city, 7.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line, Highline R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the value pick if you want the Tiguan’s core strengths without paying for extras that do not dramatically change the vehicle’s character. It is already well equipped and gives you the full redesigned experience.
• Comfortline: This is the sensible step-up if you want a little more equipment without jumping too far in price. It keeps the Tiguan’s comfort-first personality intact and should suit most shoppers well.
• Comfortline R-Line: Choose this if you want the sport appearance package and are willing to pay more for the look rather than a major change in capability.
• Highline R-Line: This is the trim to buy if you want the most features, including the larger 15-inch display, native navigation, head-up display, surround-view camera system, and traffic sign reader.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, while the Highline R-Line adds the most advanced convenience and visibility features.

Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It corrects the last generation’s user interface issues while adding a quieter cabin and a more polished feel.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It offers value upgrades and a premium look.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished Tiguan in this span, the 2025 is the better primary choice because it improves the cabin, tech, and overall refinement. If you are shopping with price sensitivity first, the 2024 is worth a look for its value-oriented upgrades and upscale appearance.
