How much does the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta cost?

Prices have softened 13.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It suits you well if you want a compact sedan with plenty of passenger space, a large trunk, and a fuel-efficient engine that still has some zip. Volkswagen’s updates for this model year also help it feel more current, with revised styling, an improved interior, upgraded handling, and more standard technology.

The trade-offs are the frustrating touch-sensitive climate controls and the lack of a hybrid option. All-wheel drive is also not available, so if that matters to you, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a decent amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Jetta is presented as a sensible, well-equipped compact sedan with a roomy cabin and a big trunk, and its German driving dynamics add to its appeal. The expert review also notes that the IQ.Drive safety and driver-assistance systems work with remarkable precision and refinement, which supports day-to-day confidence.

Volkswagen backs the car with a four-year or 80,000-kilometre warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is less about outright complexity and more about making sure the car’s electronics and convenience features are working properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline each build on the Jetta’s practical formula, but the base trim leaves out some of the nicer convenience and comfort upgrades you’ll find higher up the range. The Highline adds leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, and additional comfort features, while the Comfortline can be fitted with a Sport package that adds 18-inch alloy wheels, stainless steel pedals, an electronic differential lock, a heated wiper park, a wide sunroof, and a digital instrument cluster.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is not available.
• Safety package: Every 2025 Jetta comes with IQ.Drive, Volkswagen’s suite of driver-assistance systems and safety features. Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with active collision avoidance, and the system can countersteer if you attempt an unsafe lane change. Lane Assist is available, and Emergency Assist can bring the car to a safe stop and activate the hazard lights if the driver becomes unresponsive while the system is active.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel, plus Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Car-Net connected services. The Comfortline adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and voice recognition, while the Highline also includes navigation. A 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro display comes with the Comfortline’s Sport package or the Highline.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Jetta at 7.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and testing returned 8.9 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta is offered in 3 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Jetta experience with the standard turbocharged engine, the 8-inch touchscreen, the digital instrument panel, and IQ.Drive. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you’ll miss out on some of the nicer convenience and cabin upgrades found higher up.
• Comfortline: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and voice recognition. If you want a more modern daily driver without stretching to the top trim, this is the one to focus on.
• Highline: This is the most upscale choice, with leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, navigation, and additional comfort features. It suits you best if you want the most polished version of the Jetta and are willing to pay for it.

The Comfortline’s Sport package and the Highline include the more sophisticated 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro display, and IQ.Drive is standard across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 447 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,612 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $26,612 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,744 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale values may stay under pressure if the market remains competitive. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price carefully to stand out, especially if similar cars are plentiful.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta safe?

The 2025 Jetta earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and Good ratings in the IIHS small overlap front crash test and original versions of the moderate overlap front and side-impact tests, but it received an Acceptable rating in the updated side crash test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, its suite of driver assistance systems and safety features.

The main caveat is that the Jetta is not a segment leader for safety ratings, and the updated IIHS side crash result is a reminder that it isn’t the class benchmark here.

Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the refreshed styling, improved interior, upgraded handling, and more standard technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most current Jetta with updated styling, a nicer cabin, and a stronger feature set, the 2025 model is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may still be worth a look, but the 2025’s softened pricing makes it a compelling choice for value-focused buyers.
