Is the 2025 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Camry earns a 4.89/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior. They also value its strong pricing relative to rising used-car costs, which fits the Camry’s practical, family-friendly mission.

The main trade-offs are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant. Even so, the Camry’s up-to-date styling, strong value, and hybrid-only setup make it a sensible choice if you want an efficient midsize sedan that stays easy to live with. Good and great deals account for 37.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car you can count on, with praise centred on its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, and spacious interior. The expert assessment also reinforces that dependable, trouble-free character by highlighting Toyota’s reliability reputation and the Camry’s no-fatal-flaws approach.

Toyota’s hybrid system is designed to operate in the background, which supports an easy ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about living with the Camry’s few annoyances, especially the noisy engine and voice-recognition quirks.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels and a mix of cloth and SofTex synthetic leather upholstery, while SE Upgrade and XLE move to black 18-inch wheels and XSE gets 19-inch wheels. The sportier SE and XSE also add front air ducts, rear diffusers, sport-mesh grilles, and exposed dual-tip exhausts, so you should decide whether you want the more basic look or the more aggressive appearance and richer materials.
• Powertrain: Every 2025 Camry is hybrid-only, using a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with electric motors. FWD models make 225 horsepower, while AWD models make 232 horsepower, and the electronic AWD system is designed to add traction with only a minimal impact on fuel economy.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, along with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist, while XLE and XSE add front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, a panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: Every Camry gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless charging and five USB ports. Higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display, while XLE and XSE also add a 10-inch head-up display and a nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 4.9 L/100 km combined for the FWD version, 5.1 L/100 km combined for AWD models with 18-inch wheels, and 5.3 L/100 km combined for the XSE.

Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SE Upgrade, XLE, XSE.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point into the hybrid Camry lineup. You still get the standard hybrid powertrain, the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the base trim’s 16-inch alloy wheels.
• SE Upgrade: This trim adds a step up in appearance and equipment with black 18-inch wheels, making it the sensible middle ground if you want more style without jumping all the way to the luxury-oriented trims.
• XLE: This is the comfort-focused choice, with black 18-inch wheels, perforated leather seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10-inch head-up display, JBL audio, and extra safety tech such as front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, parking assist with automatic braking, and a panoramic view monitor.
• XSE: This is the most expressive trim, pairing 19-inch wheels, sporty exterior details, perforated leather seats, the larger screens, head-up display, JBL audio, and the same expanded safety equipment as XLE. It suits you best if you want the most upscale and athletic Camry.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the XLE and XSE are the trims that add the most advanced driver-assistance and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 241 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.51% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,834 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $38,841 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,908 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. A softer used market can mean more competition when you eventually list your car, especially if newer examples continue to come down in price.

On the other hand, the Camry’s strong reputation for reliability, safety, and owner satisfaction should help it stay attractive to future shoppers. If demand remains steady for efficient, well-equipped midsize sedans, that should support resale value better than a model with weaker brand loyalty.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2025 Toyota Camry is too new to have completed crash testing with independent safety organizations.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on every trim.

XLE and XSE add front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, a panoramic view monitor, and traffic-jam assist. The main caveat is that traffic-jam assist requires Drive Connect to be active.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It debuts a new hybrid-only powertrain, fresh styling, and updated tech.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition package for the SE Upgrade AWD.

The bottom line: If you want the newest hybrid-only Camry with a softer used-market price and strong owner satisfaction, the 2025 is the better buy. If you are price-sensitive and find a well-equipped 2025 at the low end of the range, that is the path to prioritise; if you want the latest small update and can wait, the 2026 is worth a look.
