Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA stands out as a compact luxury car that leans heavily into technology, comfort, and a polished premium feel. It is described as extremely well equipped, with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, LED headlights, and a suite of driver-assistance features that includes active braking and blind-spot assist. That makes it appealing if you want a small Mercedes that feels thoroughly modern without needing to move far up the range.

It also offers a broad spread of powertrains for buyers who want something beyond a basic luxury sedan. The lineup includes a 2.0-litre inline-four with mild-hybrid tech and 255 horsepower, an AMG model with 416 horsepower, a range-topping AMG variant with 671 horsepower, and a plug-in hybrid with 313 horsepower and an electric-only range of 87 kilometres. All-wheel drive is standard in Canada, and the car’s available options are extensive, ranging from a wireless charging pad and Burmester sound system to a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and Digital Light headlights.

There are trade-offs, though. The CLA is positioned as a premium product, so some versions are expensive, and the brand’s reliability record is not especially strong. It is also not presented as the most entertaining car in its class to drive. Even so, for buyers who value style, equipment, and a wide choice of electrified performance, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA has a lot going for it.

With 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully, especially if you plan to keep the car beyond the warranty period.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,459 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $41,459 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,112 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than it would be in a stronger pricing environment. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Should I buy a 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.77% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It shifts to an electric fastback with a quieter cabin and more advanced EV tech.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the familiar gas-powered CLA formula with strong equipment, broad powertrain choice, and a softer used-market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2025 also looks attractive because the market has already moved down meaningfully. If your priority is the newest direction for the nameplate and you want an EV-focused compact luxury car, the 2026 is the alternative to watch.
