Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out for refinement, competitive interior space, and strong towing capability, but its user interface remains a weak point. The main trade-offs are unintuitive technology and poor value for money.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover reliable?

The Range Rover’s expert assessment points to strong capability and refinement, but it also highlights technology that can be frustrating to use. Its powertrain lineup is broad, and the vehicle’s comfort-focused tuning helps it feel composed in daily driving.

The base turbo-six powertrain achieves Natural Resources Canada-rated fuel economy of 11.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined, while the available plug-in hybrid offers 85 kilometres of electric range. Land Rover also includes a four-year/80,000-kilometre new vehicle limited warranty and four-year/80,000-kilometre roadside assistance coverage.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about whether you’re comfortable living with a premium SUV whose technology and running costs can be demanding.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: SE, Autobiography, and SV trims are available, but not with every body style. The standard-wheelbase model is offered in all three, while the long-wheelbase three-row version is only available as an SE or Autobiography, and the two-row long-wheelbase model is only available in Autobiography or SV spec. Base SE models come with 21-inch wheels, while Autobiography and SV models get 22-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six with mild hybrid assistance, a plug-in hybrid version of that engine, or a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 in different states of tune. The Range Rover is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4WD across the lineup.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. Land Rover does not offer a more advanced hands-free system here.
• Infotainment: All models come with a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a 35-speaker Meridian audio system with active noise cancellation is available on Autobiography and SV models.
• Fuel efficiency: The base turbo-six is rated at 11.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined. V8 models are rated at 12.6 L/100 km combined in short-wheelbase form, 13.2 L/100 km combined in long-wheelbase form, and 13.2 L/100 km combined in more-powerful SV spec. The plug-in hybrid adds 85 kilometres of electric range.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, Autobiography, and SV.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Range Rover experience, including the standard 21-inch wheels on the standard-wheelbase model and the full suite of standard driver assistance features. It makes the most sense if you want the nameplate and capability without stretching too far up the price ladder.
• Autobiography: This is the best-value trim if you want a richer experience, since it opens up more body-style combinations and adds 22-inch wheels, plus access to the available 35-speaker Meridian audio system. It’s the trim to target if you want a more luxurious feel without going all the way to SV.
• SV: This is the most exclusive choice, and it’s the one to consider if you want the highest-spec long-wheelbase two-row configuration or the most powerful V8 tune. It suits you best if you’re shopping for maximum prestige and performance rather than value.

Safety-package note: every trim gets the same standard driver assistance suite, so you’re not buying up to unlock the core safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 48 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $145,122 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?

The current average of $145,122 CAD sits slightly below last year's $178,392 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for you as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a softer point in the cycle, which can help reduce the risk of overpaying. For resale, the Range Rover’s premium positioning may still support demand, but the current trend shows that pricing can move down meaningfully.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover safe?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. Land Rover doesn’t offer anything more sophisticated, but everything that is available comes standard.

The camera system is especially useful in a vehicle this size, though it doesn’t always appear automatically when you need it, and the parking aids can be overly sensitive. That makes low-speed manoeuvring a bit more involved than it should be.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.65% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model keeps the Range Rover’s refinement, competitive interior space, and strong towing capability while limiting changes to option reshuffling.

The bottom line: If you want the current Range Rover and you value a softer used-market price, the 2025 is the one to focus on. If you’re mainly chasing the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 gives you the latest version of this formula with a meaningful price drop versus last year.
