Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns an expert rating of 7.83/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It stands out as a compact crossover that blends everyday usability with a clear off-road identity, and it is described as a good all-around crossover for buyers who want something distinctive without giving up daily versatility. The trade-offs are excessive touchscreen controls and mediocre fuel economy.

With 35.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is presented as a rugged, practical compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a strong off-road focus, which supports its appeal for buyers who want a vehicle that can handle more than just commuting. Its expert assessment also highlights composed, comfortable, and quiet road manners, which is a good sign for day-to-day dependability.

The performance information points to a straightforward powertrain lineup with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, which keeps the mechanical setup relatively conventional for a small SUV with off-road ambitions. Ford’s warranty coverage is competitive, and the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Bronco Sport’s capability-focused hardware and touchscreen-heavy cabin may be more demanding to live with than a simpler small SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage trims each bring different equipment and character, and the off-road packages add modular steel bumpers, accessory mounting points, D-rings, a removable nudge bar, and underbody protection. If you want the best value, focus on the trim that gives you the features you actually need rather than paying for off-road hardware you may not use.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, while Badlands models get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, and the 2.0-litre models add manual-shifting capability.
• Safety package: Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Sync 4 system. The touchscreen-heavy setup is worth checking carefully to make sure you are comfortable with it.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-litre engine is rated at 8.7 L/100 km combined, while the 2.0-litre engine is rated at 10.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Big Bend, Heritage, Outer Banks, and Badlands.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point, and it is the trim to start with if you want the Bronco Sport’s core personality without stretching too far on price. It also serves as the base for the Black Diamond off-road package, so it is the trim to watch if you want added trail hardware.
• Heritage: Choose this if you want the Bronco Sport’s rugged shape with a more design-focused look. It is the style-first choice in the lineup.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale-feeling Bronco Sport and are interested in the available Sasquatch Package. It is a strong middle ground for buyers who want comfort and capability.
• Badlands: This is the most capable choice in the lineup, with the 2.0-litre engine and added off-road hardware. It is the one to buy if you want the most serious trail focus.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on the Outer Banks and standard on the Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 796 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,171 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $34,171 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,239 CAD.

That drop suggests the used market has become more buyer-friendly, which can help you negotiate if you are shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect stronger depreciation pressure than you would have seen a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may be able to soften that hit, but the current trend still favours buyers more than sellers.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash-test ratings and a four-star rollover crash-test rating. It also earns a Good score in the IIHS small overlap front test, a Marginal score in the updated moderate overlap front test, and an Acceptable rating in the updated side-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

The main caveat is the IIHS moderate overlap front result, which is weaker than the Bronco Sport’s otherwise strong crash-test showing.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.
• Ford’s 2025 updates add new off-road packages, tech, styling, and interior improvements.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the most up-to-date Bronco Sport with the strongest mix of off-road hardware and tech upgrades. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 is the one to target if you want the freshest feature set and are shopping in a softer market.
