Is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado earns an expert rating of 7.83/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a right-sized truck that’s easy to park in town and still geared toward off-pavement use. The Colorado also brings stylish design and easy-to-use technology, which broadens its appeal beyond just trail-focused shoppers.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and questionable value for money. It also lacks a long-bed option, which limits practicality if you need maximum cargo flexibility.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a well-rounded midsize truck with a strong standard turbocharged engine and a straightforward, easy-to-use tech setup.

Its powertrain is described as delivering quick response with minimal lag right off idle, and the transmission is said to shift quickly and smoothly. The truck’s off-road-oriented hardware also suggests a robust mechanical setup for buyers who plan to use it hard.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator and automatic high beams. Blind-zone steering assist, reverse automatic emergency braking and rear park assist are also standard.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Colorado’s higher running costs and value concerns may matter more as the truck ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Colorado?

Which 2025 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the most affordable entry point if you want the Colorado’s core capability and standard tech without paying for extra appearance or off-road equipment.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look and standard 4WD in Canada while staying below the more expensive adventure-focused models.
• Trail Boss: Choose this if you want the factory lift and off-road stance without jumping all the way to the pricier ZR2 family.
• Z71: This is the more upscale middle ground, with a fancier grille, additional body-colour elements and a stronger off-road lean than LT.
• ZR2: Pick this if off-road performance is your priority; it brings the most serious hardware and the most distinctive look in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, and blind-zone steering assist, reverse automatic emergency braking and rear park assist are also standard.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $52,128 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,490 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Colorado is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. If you buy now, you may be entering at a softer point in the market than previous shoppers did.

For a future seller, that means resale upside may depend more on trim, condition and equipment than on broad market momentum. Well-equipped versions should hold interest better than basic examples, especially if they have desirable off-road hardware.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.38% compared with last year.
• It blends strong standard power with broad off-road appeal and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $48,050 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $52,128 CAD average.
• It focuses more on recreation and lifestyle use than basic work-truck duty.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the Colorado simple with one powertrain, five trims and mostly unchanged content.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong capability and modern tech, the 2025 is the main target. If your budget is tighter, the 2024 is the better value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the latest version of the same formula.
