How much does the 2025 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 5.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 320 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 a good car?

Generally — the 2025 BMW X3 earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The redesigned X3 is aimed at you if you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritises driving enjoyment, distinctive styling, and technology over a softer traditional-luxury feel. Its minimalist cabin, unusual design, and strong value proposition are central to its appeal, and BMW gives you plenty of ways to tailor the vehicle to your preferences.

The trade-offs are clear: the ride can feel firm and jiggly on imperfect roads, and the technology can be frustrating in day-to-day use. Even so, the X3’s overall package remains compelling if you value style and engagement more than plush comfort.

33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The X3 is presented as a well-rounded compact luxury SUV with strong driving dynamics, and BMW backs it with complimentary maintenance for the length of a typical lease. Its turbocharged powertrain is described as a gem, with broad power delivery and strong responsiveness from the mild-hybrid system.

The expert review also notes that the X3’s technology issues may have been specific to the test vehicle, but the infotainment behaviour was still frustrating enough to matter for used buyers. For long-term ownership, that means you should pay close attention to software behaviour, feature operation, and whether the vehicle has been updated and properly set up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW X3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X3 is sold in 30 xDrive and M50 xDrive model series. The 30 xDrive is the value play if you want the strongest balance of price, performance, and efficiency, while the M50 xDrive is the choice if you want the more powerful and more expensive version.
• Powertrain: The 30 xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, while the M50 xDrive uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder. The base engine is described as surprisingly capable, but the six-cylinder is the one to choose if you want genuinely fast acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and front, side, and rear parking sensors. The Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Steering Assistant technology, while the Parking Assistant Professional Package adds semi-automated parking tech and remote parking functions.
• Infotainment: The X3 uses BMW Curved Display hardware with Operating System 9, also known as iDrive 9. Wireless Apple CarPlay is included, and the navigation system can use an optional augmented video feature through BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
• Fuel efficiency: The 30 xDrive is rated at 8.1 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review’s real-world testing returned 11.7 L/100 km under demanding conditions.

Which 2025 BMW X3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW X3 is offered in 2 trim levels: 30 xDrive and M50 xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• 30 xDrive: This is the best-value choice if you want the redesigned X3’s core strengths without paying for the performance upgrade. It delivers strong everyday acceleration, standard AWD, and the mild-hybrid setup that helps with responsiveness and smooth start-stop operation.
• M50 xDrive: Choose this if you want the quickest and most powerful X3, with the turbocharged inline six-cylinder and the more serious performance character that comes with it.

For safety equipment, the standard driver-assistance suite is already well stocked, while the Premium Package and Parking Assistant Professional Package add the more advanced features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 320 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $62,241 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $62,949 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,904 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, because you may be entering ownership at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means there is some room for prices to stabilise if demand stays healthy for well-equipped examples.

The X3’s strong appeal as a stylish, engaging compact luxury SUV should help support used demand, especially for well-kept vehicles with desirable equipment. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 safe?

The 2025 BMW X3 earns a four-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), one notch below a top five-star rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and front, side, and rear parking sensors. The Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Steering Assistant technology, while the Parking Assistant Professional Package adds semi-automated parking tech and remote parking functions.

A key caveat is that the Steering Assistant can be frustrating when used without adaptive cruise control, so you may prefer to rely on lane-keeping assist unless you are on wide-open highways.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned X3 brings unusual styling, strong driving enjoyment, and impressive technology.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The base model looks and feels a little more upscale inside.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned X3 at a softer price and are comfortable evaluating a used example carefully, the 2025 is the stronger value play. If you prefer the latest small refinement and are willing to pay for it, the 2026 is the cleaner alternative; price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2025’s broader inventory and lower average pricing.
