How much does the 2025 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 11.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 338 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for you to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 a good car?

Generally — the 2025 BMW X3 earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall case if you value driving enjoyment and style. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The redesigned X3 leans into a minimalist, driver-focused character rather than traditional luxury, with alluring proportions, unusual design, and impressive technology. It can feel like a bargain at its sticker price, and BMW gives you plenty of ways to tailor it to your preferences.

The trade-offs are clear: the ride can be firm and jiggly on imperfect roads, and the technology can be unintuitive. If you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritises personality and driving dynamics over plushness, this one fits that brief well.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 X3 is presented as a well-rounded compact luxury SUV with strong driving dynamics and a broad power band from its turbocharged engine. BMW also includes complimentary maintenance for the length of a typical lease, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

Its performance hardware and standard all-wheel drive should make it a confident daily driver, and the expert review describes the base powertrain as a gem. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the vehicle’s more complex technology and premium hardware could be costly if you end up needing repairs outside the maintenance window.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW X3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X3’s minimalist cabin and exterior design are part of its appeal, but the base trim’s interior materials can feel less premium in some areas, especially lower cabin surfaces and storage bins. Make sure the trim you’re considering includes the features you want, because BMW spreads equipment across packages.
• Powertrain: The 30 xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, while the M50 xDrive adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder for much stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and front, side, and rear parking sensors. The Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Steering Assistant, while the Parking Assistant Professional Package adds semi-automated parking tech and remote parking functions.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display runs Operating System 9, and the system supports wireless Apple CarPlay. Navigation with augmented video is part of BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada combined rating is 8.1 L/100 km.

Which 2025 BMW X3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW X3 is offered in 2 trim levels: 30 xDrive and M50 xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• 30 xDrive: This is the best-value choice if you want the core X3 experience. It delivers strong real-world performance from its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, standard all-wheel drive, and a mild-hybrid system that helps with responsiveness. It also captures the model’s style and value story without pushing you into the much pricier performance version.
• M50 xDrive: Choose this if you want the quickest, most powerful X3 and are willing to pay for it. It adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine and a much more performance-focused character.

The safety package is spread across packages, so check whether the X3 you’re considering includes the driver-assistance features you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 338 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $61,127 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $61,397 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,211 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you are buying now but less ideal if you plan to sell soon. A softer used-price environment can mean more competition when you list your vehicle later, especially if newer examples continue to come down in price.

On the other hand, the X3’s strong reputation for driving enjoyment and its broad appeal in the compact luxury SUV segment should help support demand. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it properly, it should remain attractive to future shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 BMW X3 safe?

The 2025 BMW X3 earns a four-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), one notch below a top five-star rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and front, side, and rear parking sensors. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Steering Assistant are included with the Premium Package, while the Parking Assistant Professional Package adds semi-automated parking tech and remote parking functions.

One caveat is that Steering Assistant can be frustrating when used without adaptive cruise control, so you may prefer to rely on lane-keeping assist unless you are on a wide-open highway.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned X3 brings unusual design, impressive technology, and a driver-focused feel.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The base model gets a slightly more upscale look and feel inside.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned X3 now and value the current price softness, the 2025 is the stronger buy. If you are especially price-sensitive and can wait, the 2026 may appeal if you want the same core package with a modest interior polish.
