How much does the 2025 Acura RDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 181 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Acura RDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura RDX earns a 6.8/10 expert rating, and it is positioned as a compact luxury crossover that focuses on balance rather than a full redesign. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is described as enjoyable to drive, with good safety ratings and excellent value for money, and it also gets a light refresh that updates the styling, centre console, cupholders, and infotainment presentation. The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and frustrating infotainment controls are the biggest drawbacks, and the back seat is also called out as uncomfortable.

For you, that means the RDX makes the most sense if you want a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong everyday usability and you can live with some tech frustration. 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Acura RDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura RDX is presented as a mature, seven-year-old current-generation model that still feels appealing, with quality, interior space, practicality, and thoughtful details working in its favour. Its driving dynamics are described positively, and the overall package is framed as one that is pleasing to live with over time.

The performance content also points to a robust turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, a 10-speed automatic, and SH-AWD, which suggests a proven mechanical layout rather than a complicated one. Acura also includes a long standard safety package, and the cost-effectiveness content notes that the money saved versus pricier rivals can help offset the extra fuel it uses.

If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the infotainment system remains a persistent annoyance, so the vehicle’s mechanical appeal may matter more than its technology experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite A-Spec differ in presentation and equipment. The base trim misses some features that appear higher up, including low-speed front and rear braking and the surround-view camera system.
• Powertrain: Every RDX uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and SH-AWD. The fuel-economy figures are 9.9 L/100 km combined for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims also add low-speed front and rear braking and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The dashboard display is 10.2 inches, and it is not a touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in are included, and all versions except the base model have navigation and an Acura/ELS Studio premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.

Which 2025 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura RDX is offered in 3 trim levels: base, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite A-Spec.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value-focused choice if you want the RDX’s core strengths without stretching for extras. You still get the standard turbocharged engine, SH-AWD, AcuraWatch, and the 10.2-inch infotainment display, but you miss some of the higher-trim convenience and parking features.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want a more distinctive look and a richer equipment mix without going all the way to the top. It adds the sportier appearance treatment and carries over the upgraded infotainment and premium audio equipment that are not on the base model.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale version of the RDX. It adds full leather upholstery, and it is the only trim that gets the surround-view camera system.

AcuraWatch is standard across the range, while low-speed front and rear braking and the surround-view camera system are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,368 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $52,455 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,055 CAD.

That decline suggests the RDX has become more attractive to used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one, the current market is not especially favourable for maximising resale, especially if your vehicle is not in strong condition or does not have desirable equipment. On the other hand, the model’s broad appeal, good safety ratings, and premium positioning should still help it hold reasonable value relative to many mainstream SUVs.

Is the 2025 Acura RDX safe?

The 2025 Acura RDX earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is the standard safety package, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims also offer low-speed front and rear braking and a surround-view camera system.

One caveat is that the lane-assist systems are described as irritating and prone to being overridden, and the adaptive cruise control can struggle to maintain a smooth following distance. The base RDX also lacks low-speed front and rear braking.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
• The refresh matters to you, especially the updated styling, wireless charging pad, improved Apple CarPlay and Android Auto presentation, and the Platinum Elite A-Spec’s full leather upholstery.

The bottom line: The 2025 RDX is the right pick if you want the refreshed version of this generation and you value its balance of driving enjoyment, practicality, and safety. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025 gives you the latest updates without changing the RDX’s core appeal.
