Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 786 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,002 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

The current average of $25,002 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,036 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If market conditions stay steady, a lower entry cost today may leave you with less downside later. Strong demand for well-rated used examples can also help support values when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,062 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,002 CAD average.
• It adds more standard safety features and equipment.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing and owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is worth a look because it undercuts the current average while still offering the Taos's practical small-SUV appeal.
