CarGurus Analysis: 2024 RAM 1500
Summary
With 217 currently listed for sale and an average price of $52,903 CAD, 35.5% of 2024 RAM 1500 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 RAM 1500 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2024 RAM 1500 stands out for the way it blends full-size truck capability with a notably refined driving experience. Ram’s long-running formula has centred on a smooth ride, roomy cabin, and quality interior materials, and the truck’s current generation continues that approach with a comprehensively new and plush interior. It also offers a broad range of trims and configurations in Canada, along with standard four-wheel drive, which helps make it appealing to buyers who want a truck that feels more polished than many rivals without giving up everyday usefulness.
What makes this generation especially distinctive is the mix of technology and capability it brought in 2019 and beyond. The truck gained an updated frame, mild hybrid technology, and FCA’s latest infotainment and driver assistance technology, while a 12-inch touchscreen and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system were available. Ram also added the multifunction tailgate in 2020. On the capability side, the truck’s maximum payload and towing capacity rose to 1,043 kilograms and 5,783 kilograms, respectively, and the available engines include the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with 305 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, plus the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
There are also some clear trade-offs. The Ram 1500’s tow ratings tend to lag the competition, and advanced driver aids are only offered on higher trims. Fuel economy can also be a concern, especially with the more powerful performance-focused versions. Even so, the 2024 RAM 1500 remains attractive because it delivers the kind of comfort, refinement, and feature content that many buyers want in a modern pickup, while still offering serious utility and a wide spread of choices.

Great value for the price, roughly 7k below average price for this model truck, under 50k miles. I was hoping for LED headlamps, and the tires are a little worn, but the truck is in great condition, like new. Interior is fantastic. All leather, stereo is amazing.

How much does the 2024 RAM 1500 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $52,439 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $52,337 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $59,546 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $59,523 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.90% |
Prices have softened 11.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,692 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 a good car?
Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this truck. You get a spacious interior, a comfortable ride, and a strong mix of features and performance, with many drivers especially appreciating the TRX. For Canadian shoppers who want a full-size pickup that feels more polished than a basic work truck, the 2024 RAM 1500 fits that use case well. With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2024 RAM 1500 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers describe it as comfortable, spacious, and feature-rich, and those are the kinds of traits that often support dependable day-to-day ownership. Some owners do note that real-world fuel economy can fall short of expectations, so long-term running costs may be a consideration for used buyers.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 1500?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep discounts on every listing.
- Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,692 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $52,337 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 RAM 1500's resale value?
The current average of $52,439 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,523 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale values may reflect a market that has already adjusted downward. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. Strong demand for well-equipped, comfortable pickups can still help support values, especially when the truck is presented well and maintained carefully.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
