Used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid cost?

Prices have softened 8.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 441 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 6.5/10. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, impressive fuel economy, and spacious interior. The overview also points to strong everyday usability, standard all-wheel drive, and comfort as key reasons it works well as a practical compact SUV.

The main trade-offs are that the interior is not as refined as some rivals and the cargo capacity is smaller than average. That makes it a better fit if you value efficiency and ease of use more than maximum cabin polish or cargo room.

With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a solid choice for practical use. The expert assessment also highlights strong build quality and notes that the hybrid system and driving controls work smoothly in everyday use.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match its reputation for durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model leaves out a leather-wrapped steering wheel and uses a urethane wheel and centre armrest, while most other trim levels add a leather covering. Higher grades also bring larger wheels and more upscale cabin touches.
• Powertrain: You’re getting a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor/generator, plus a second rear electric motor for all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned for efficiency and calm everyday driving rather than sporty acceleration.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. In Canada, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard. The Limited trim adds front and rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking when backing up and a surround-view camera system, while these features are available on the XSE.
• Infotainment: Most trim levels come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while higher trims upgrade to a 10.5-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system supports over-the-air software updates.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 5.8 L/100 km in the city, 6.3 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.0 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is offered in 5 trim levels: Hybrid LE AWD, Hybrid XLE AWD, Hybrid SE AWD, Hybrid XSE AWD, and Hybrid Limited AWD.

Here's the short version:

• Hybrid LE AWD: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core hybrid efficiency, standard all-wheel drive, and the full safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and care most about value.
• Hybrid XLE AWD: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing too far up the price ladder. It’s the trim to focus on if you want a more rounded daily driver.
• Hybrid SE AWD: This trim sits above the XLE and adds a sportier presentation, but the available information here does not point to a major mechanical change. It suits you if appearance and trim differentiation matter.
• Hybrid XSE AWD: This higher trim brings the larger 10.5-inch touchscreen, the 11-speaker JBL audio system, and available parking and camera upgrades. It’s a good fit if you want more tech and a richer feature set.
• Hybrid Limited AWD: This is the most fully equipped version, with the surround-view camera system, parking sensors, automatic braking when backing up, and a digital rearview mirror. Choose it if you want the most convenience and safety hardware.

The safety package is standard across the range, but the Limited trim adds the most advanced parking and camera features, with some of those features also available on the XSE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 441 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,640 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $38,640 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,299 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may need to be realistic if they want to move the vehicle quickly. The current market also shows that buyers have more room to compare listings, which can put pressure on resale values in the short term.

Even so, a model with strong owner satisfaction can still hold demand well over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid safe?

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and five-star ratings for overall and side crash protection from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. In Canada, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

The main caveat is that IIHS rated the moderate overlap frontal and side-impact tests as Acceptable rather than Good. Higher trims add parking sensors, automatic braking when backing up, and a surround-view camera system, which can make low-speed manoeuvring easier.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model year adds a new infotainment system and the Woodland Edition, which gives you a more up-to-date cabin and a more adventurous trim option.

The bottom line: If you want a used RAV4 Hybrid with strong efficiency, standard all-wheel drive, and a market that has eased a bit from last year, the 2023 is a sensible place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it’s still worth comparing nearby model years and individual listings to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you the features you want.
