Used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for Sale nearBurnaby, BC

How much does the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid cost?

Prices have softened 9.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 407 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, impressive fuel economy, and spacious interior. That lines up well with its use case as a practical compact SUV that prioritises efficiency and everyday comfort over flash.

The main trade-offs are that the interior isn't as refined as some rivals and cargo capacity is smaller than average. Even so, the overview points to a well-rounded SUV with standard all-wheel drive and easy-to-use technology, which makes it especially appealing if you want efficiency without giving up day-to-day usability.

With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels solid, practical, and trouble-free for most buyers, with the hybrid system’s noise being a minor annoyance that many owners say fades into the background. That kind of feedback is encouraging if you want a used SUV you can count on.

The expert assessment also describes the RAV4 Hybrid as well built, with no detectable creaks or squeaks over rough pavement, which supports the impression of good day-to-day dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether the example you choose has been maintained well and still feels as tight and quiet as it should.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model leaves out a leather-wrapped steering wheel and uses a urethane wheel and centre armrest, while higher trims add more premium touches. The Woodland Edition is the more adventurous choice, and it is based on the XLE trim level.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with an electric motor/generator, a CVT, and standard all-wheel drive. It produces 219 horsepower and is tuned for calm, efficient driving rather than sporty acceleration.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. In Canada, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard. Limited adds front and rear parking proximity sensors with automatic braking when backing up and a surround-view camera system, while these features are available on XSE.
• Infotainment: Most trims use an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while higher trims upgrade to a 10.5-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, the system supports over-the-air updates, and a wireless charging pad is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 5.8 L/100 km in the city, 6.3 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.0 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is offered in 5 trim levels: Hybrid LE AWD, Hybrid XLE AWD, Hybrid SE AWD, Hybrid XSE AWD, and Hybrid Limited AWD.

Here's the short version:

• Hybrid LE AWD: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and the full safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is also the most obviously basic inside.
• Hybrid XLE AWD: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a more polished feel without pushing you into the pricier upper trims. It is also the trim that the Woodland Edition is based on, which makes it the one to watch if you want a more adventurous setup.
• Hybrid SE AWD: Choose this if you want a slightly sportier presentation and are willing to pay more for it, but the core appeal still comes from the same efficient hybrid setup.
• Hybrid XSE AWD: This trim brings the larger 10.5-inch touchscreen, the fully digital instrument panel, and the 11-speaker JBL audio system. It also gets the available parking tech mentioned in the safety content, making it a strong pick if you care about tech and convenience.
• Hybrid Limited AWD: This is the most feature-rich version, with the same larger screen, the digital rearview mirror, front and rear parking proximity sensors, automatic braking when backing up, and the surround-view camera system. It suits you best if you want the most complete equipment list.

All 2023 RAV4 Hybrid models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, while the Limited adds extra parking and camera technology and those features are available on the XSE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 407 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,800 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $38,800 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,751 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests buyers have a bit more negotiating room today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, that means the market is still supporting the model, but you should not expect the same pricing strength you would have seen when values were higher.

The good news is that the RAV4 Hybrid’s strong reputation for efficiency, practicality, and owner satisfaction should help it stay in demand. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records tidy, that should support resale value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid safe?

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid earns five-star ratings for overall and side crash protection from NHTSA, and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it its highest score of Good in all tests except the new moderate overlap frontal and side-impact tests, where it scored Acceptable, and it named the RAV4 a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. In Canada, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

The main caveat is the IIHS Acceptable result in the moderate overlap frontal and side-impact tests, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• A new infotainment system and the Woodland Edition help make this year especially appealing.

The bottom line: The 2023 RAV4 Hybrid is a smart pick if you want the updated infotainment system, strong fuel efficiency, and the reassurance of high owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years and shopping carefully for the best-equipped example at the right price.
