Used 2023 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearEdmonton, AB

How much does the 2023 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 2.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 147 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable interior, and modern features. They also value it highly against rivals, especially for its strong value proposition and broad appeal. In use, it comes across as a practical midsize pickup for shoppers who want capability without a complicated ownership experience.

The main trade-offs are a sluggish transmission and poor fuel economy. Even so, the Frontier’s straightforward character and useful feature set make it a sensible fit if you want a midsize truck that feels familiar and easy to live with.

Good and great deals account for 36.1% of listings, which points to a reasonably shopper-friendly market.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers describing it as a truck they feel good about keeping for the long term. The expert assessment also supports that impression by presenting it as a straightforward, durable midsize pickup with a traditional-truck character.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to service history and how the truck has been driven, since long-term ownership risk is always lower when maintenance has been consistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the S, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features. The base S misses some equipment that becomes available on higher grades, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with 310 hp and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The truck uses standard 4WD in Canada, and the transmission can feel busy on the highway.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert. Traffic-sign recognition is standard on Pro-4X.
• Infotainment: Most trims use an 8-inch touchscreen, while Pro-4X gets a 9-inch system. Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard on Pro-4X, while Android Auto still requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates most versions at 12.8 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.6 combined. The Pro-4X is rated at 13.3 L/100 km city, 10.5 highway, and 12.0 combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV Convenience, SV, Pro-4X, Midnight Edition, and SV Premium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it is the most basic way into the lineup. Choose it only if you want the lowest starting point and are comfortable giving up some convenience and comfort features.
• SV Convenience: This trim adds useful everyday equipment over the S and is a sensible step up if you want a better-balanced truck without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• SV: The SV is the better-value middle ground for many shoppers because it keeps the Frontier’s core strengths while adding more comfort and convenience.
• Midnight Edition: This is the style-focused choice on the SV trim, with blacked-out exterior and interior details for buyers who want a darker look.
• SV Premium: This trim is the best fit if you want a more upscale feel, including the available Fender premium sound system.
• Pro-4X: This is the most capable and best-equipped choice for off-road-minded buyers, with unique styling, a larger 9-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and off-road-focused hardware and displays.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while traffic-sign recognition is reserved for Pro-4X.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 147 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,939 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $41,939 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,898 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal rather than broad market momentum alone.

The good news is that the Frontier’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to remain easier to move than trucks with weaker histories or less appealing configurations.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star side-crash results, four-star frontal-crash results, and three-star rollover results.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert. Traffic-sign recognition is standard on Pro-4X.

The main caveat is that the overall NHTSA score is held back by the frontal-crash and rollover results, so safety-conscious used buyers should pay close attention to trim and equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan added more standard features for 2023, including wireless Apple CarPlay on Pro-4X.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,677 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,939 CAD average.
• It brought a redesigned truck with updated styling, a more modern cabin, and real off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current version, the 2023 is the safer pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the value play and still delivers the Frontier’s core strengths.
