How much does the 2023 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 13.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 234 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 9.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, technology, and upscale feel, and many say it feels more luxurious than its price suggests. The Telluride also gets credit for its extensive features and smooth ride, which fit its role as a family-size crossover very well.

The trade-offs are modest but worth noting: some interior materials feel cheap, and the manual third-row seating and steering wheel drew some criticism from owners. Even so, the 2023 update adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and extra off-road character, which helps it stay appealing as a well-equipped three-row SUV.

With 23.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Telluride as a vehicle they can count on. The review summary also highlights strong comfort and a premium feel, which usually matters to buyers who plan to keep a family SUV for the long haul.

The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the Telluride as a modern Kia that stands on its own with confidence and as a fantastic all-arounder. Kia also includes a broad set of standard features, which can reduce the need for early add-ons and help ownership feel straightforward.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core dependability and more about whether the cabin materials and feature complexity age the way you want them to.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX, SX, SX Limited, X-Line, and X-Pro each bring different equipment and character. The X-Line adds a raised suspension, unique grille, raised roof rails, body-colour door handles, and black 20-inch wheels, while the X-Pro goes further with exclusive 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. The SX trim is also the point where the more advanced highway assistance setup begins, so feature gaps matter here.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system includes a Lock setting, and the X-Pro adds off-road-oriented hardware and improved towing capacity.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Safe Exit Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist starts with SX trim, and additional collision-avoidance features are also available from SX upward.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Kia Connect services, OTA updates, and Bluetooth pairing for two devices. Wireless phone charging is standard in Canada, and the Harman Kardon audio system starts from SX grade.
• Fuel efficiency: The Telluride averaged 9.8 L/100 km in testing in X-Line form, while the X-Pro returned 11.5 L/100 km during a route that included off-roading. Official combined fuel consumption is 11.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: EX, SX, SX Limited, X-Line, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard AWD setup plus the Telluride’s core comfort, safety, and tech features. It makes sense if you want the model’s main strengths without chasing extras.
• SX: This is the best-value trim if you want a richer feature set, because it adds the Harman Kardon audio system and unlocks Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist.
• SX Limited: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for a higher-spec version of the Telluride’s already strong package.
• X-Line: This is the better pick if you like the added rugged look and want the raised suspension and off-road styling cues without going all the way to the most specialised version.
• X-Pro: Pick this if you want the most off-road-focused Telluride, with all-terrain tires, exclusive wheels, improved towing capacity, and the most adventurous hardware in the lineup.

The safety package is broad across the range, but the more advanced highway assistance features begin at SX trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 23.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,222 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $42,235 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,054 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit near-term upside for a seller. If you own one now, the Telluride’s strong demand and broad appeal should still support interest, especially if your vehicle is well equipped and in good condition.

Because prices have softened, resale value may not be as strong as it was a year ago, but the model’s popularity should help it remain easy to move. Well-kept examples with desirable trims and strong equipment should continue to attract attention.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Telluride earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every Telluride with a long list of standard safety features, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Safe Exit Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert.

Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist is standard starting with SX trim, and additional collision-avoidance features are also available from SX upward. That means the higher trims bring more advanced assistance, while the core safety suite is already strong across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 23.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and extra off-road character through X-Line and X-Pro trims.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,474 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $42,235 CAD average.
• It keeps the same strong formula with only minor detail changes.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better value if you want the Telluride’s core strengths at a lower entry price, especially now that prices have softened. If you want the freshest version and do not mind paying more, the 2024 is the cleaner choice, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2023.
