How much does the 2023 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 15.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 237 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners repeatedly praise the comfort, technology, and upscale feel, and they also like how feature-rich and smooth-riding it is. The Telluride’s family-friendly three-row layout and strong value proposition fit especially well if you want a practical SUV that still feels premium.

The main trade-offs are some interior materials that feel cheap, plus a few usability quirks such as the manual third-row seating and steering wheel. Even so, the market still shows 34.6% of listings as good or great deals, which points to healthy availability for shoppers.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Telluride as something they can count on over time. The expert evaluation also backs up that impression by describing it as a strong all-around SUV with broad appeal and a well-sorted driving experience.

Kia’s long standard-equipment list also helps reduce the feeling that you need to add much after purchase, which can be a plus for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about mechanical worry and more about whether the specific example has been cared for well and still feels fresh inside.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX, SX, SX Limited, X-Line, and X-Pro each bring different visual and equipment upgrades. The X-Line adds a raised suspension, unique grille, raised roof rails, body-colour door handles, and black 20-inch wheels, while the X-Pro adds exclusive 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. The SX trim and above also unlock more advanced safety tech, so base-level feature gaps matter here.
• Powertrain: You’re looking at a 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system includes Eco, Comfort, Smart, Sport, and Snow modes, plus a low-speed Lock setting.
• Safety package: Every version gets forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Safe Exit Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist starts at SX trim, and additional collision-avoidance features also begin at SX and higher.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Kia Connect services, OTA updates, and Bluetooth pairing for two devices. Wireless phone charging is standard in Canada, and the Harman Kardon audio system starts from SX.
• Fuel efficiency: The Telluride averaged 9.8 L/100 km in testing on the X-Line and 11.5 L/100 km in the X-Pro, with an official combined rating of 11.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: EX, SX, SX Limited, X-Line, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Telluride experience with standard AWD and the full-size family-SUV formula. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable giving up some of the richer tech and safety upgrades found higher up.
• SX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the stronger premium feel and unlocks Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and price, this is the one to focus on.
• SX Limited: Choose this if you want the more upscale, fully loaded feel and are willing to pay for it. It suits you best if cabin presentation and extra convenience matter more than keeping the budget in check.
• X-Line: This is the style-and-attitude choice, with the raised suspension and tougher-looking exterior details. It’s the trim to consider if you want a more rugged appearance without going all the way to the X-Pro.
• X-Pro: This is the most off-road-focused version, with all-terrain tires, exclusive wheels, improved cooling, and the highest towing capacity. It’s the right pick if you want the most capability and the most distinctive hardware.

Safety-package note: Advanced Highway Drive Assist is standard starting with SX trim, so that’s an important step up if driver-assistance tech matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 237 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,485 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $41,485 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,913 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Telluride has already given back some value from its stronger position a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale expectations should be realistic rather than optimistic, especially if the market stays well supplied.

At the same time, the Telluride’s broad appeal and strong feature content help support demand. If your vehicle is well maintained and equipped with desirable trims or options, it should remain easier to move than a less popular three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Kia Telluride earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every Telluride with a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert.

Advanced Highway Drive Assist with Lane Change Assist is standard starting with SX trim, so lower trims miss out on that extra layer of highway assistance. The safety package is broad overall, but the standout caveat is that the more advanced collision-avoidance features are not universal across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds minor styling updates, new technology, and X-Line/X-Pro off-road attitude.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $46,468 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,485 CAD average.
• It keeps the formula largely intact with only minor detail changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it delivers the core Telluride strengths at a lower average price. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2023 is the clear starting point; if you want the newer model year and don’t mind paying more, the 2024 remains a strong alternative.
