Is the 2023 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the Tucson’s smooth driving character and overall satisfaction over time. For used buyers, that kind of response suggests lower day-to-day ownership risk, especially if you choose a well-maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Tucson?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 525 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,329 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $26,373 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,691 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tucson has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, there is less immediate downside pressure than there was before, but resale value will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Strong demand for well-equipped compact SUVs should help support values, especially for clean examples with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,768 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,373 CAD average.
• It offers more space after its redesign.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,068 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,373 CAD average.
• It adds a more balanced, refined overall package.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want strong owner satisfaction, good deal availability, and a lower average price than the 2024. If your priority is saving money first, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling, more polished option.
