Yes — the 2023 BMW X3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which lines up with its appeal as a compact luxury SUV that keeps BMW’s sporty character front and centre. It is a strong fit if you want something that feels more like a regular car than an SUV, while still giving you the high driving position and easy access you expect from this body style. The 2023 BMW X3 is described as a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong stability, sharp handling, premium materials, and a polished technology package. It also combines comfort, performance, and interior quality in a way that should make day-to-day ownership feel rewarding.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium SUV can bring higher upkeep costs than non-luxury alternatives.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 447 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,859 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $41,335 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,592 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. A premium SUV with broad appeal can still hold buyer interest, especially when it offers the sporty feel and upscale character shoppers want.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,369 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,335 CAD average.
• The 2022 is a refreshed, well-equipped premium compact SUV with a polished ride and strong feature content.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path and still gives you a polished, well-equipped luxury SUV experience.
