Is the 2023 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the X3’s appeal comes from its mix of premium feel, engaging driving dynamics, and everyday usability. It offers luxury and practicality in a compact SUV package, with rear-seat legroom, premium materials, and BMW’s iDrive touchscreen infotainment system helping it work well as a family vehicle. 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 X3 is described as a well-regarded third-generation model with a strong reputation among critics and buyers, and it combines modern technology with a premium, practical layout. That said, used luxury ownership can bring higher maintenance and repair costs than non-luxury alternatives, so you should budget carefully for long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 457 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,841 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $41,033 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,729 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices continue to ease. The X3’s premium positioning and broad appeal should still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,538 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,033 CAD average.
• The refreshed model adds design tweaks, new engines, more technology, and expanded safety features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path and still brings the refreshed X3 formula.
