Used 2023 BMW X1 for Sale nearWhitby, ON

How much does the 2023 BMW X1 cost?

Prices have softened 12.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 196 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW X1 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a small luxury crossover that blends a premium feel with everyday practicality, and it adds useful capability and plenty of cargo space. Standard all-wheel drive gives you broad all-weather confidence, while the cabin’s premium materials help it feel more upscale than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are that some advanced safety features are not standard, and the features many shoppers want can push the price up significantly. Even so, 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The X1’s appeal is built around a premium-feeling package that still aims to be practical for everyday use, and BMW’s own expert assessment highlights its strong utility and cargo space. Its performance setup also suggests a well-developed drivetrain, with the 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder and revised transmission tuned for stronger output and smoother use.

The fuel-economy rating of 8.4 L/100 km combined also gives you a useful benchmark for ownership planning. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-spec features can raise repair and replacement costs if you shop a heavily optioned example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW X1?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin feels distinctly premium, with standard LED headlights and taillights, a BMW Curved Display, and a clean interior layout. The xLine design adds silver accents and black fender arches, while the M Sport Package adds more body-coloured elements, Shadowline exterior features, a stitched SensaTec dashboard, more heavily bolstered sport seats, and an M leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is rated at 8.4 L/100 km combined and can tow up to 1,587 kilograms.
• Safety package: Active blind-spot monitoring is standard and includes exit warning, while the standard front-collision warning system includes pedestrian- and cyclist detection with brake intervention. Driving Assistant Professional adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.7-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver information display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 9.6 L/100 km in the city, 7.0 on the highway, and 8.4 combined.

Which 2023 BMW X1 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW X1 is offered in 1 trim level: xDrive28i.

Here's the short version:

The xDrive28i is the trim to focus on because it is the only one offered for this model year, and it already gives you the core X1 formula: standard all-wheel drive, a premium-feeling cabin, and strong performance for the class. If you want the best-value setup, this is it.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that active blind-spot monitoring is standard, while Driving Assistant Professional and the 360-degree surround-view camera system are optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X1?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,906 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $34,906 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,113 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if market conditions stay similar. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should pay close attention to trim, condition, and equipment because well-kept examples will matter more in a softer market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 safe?

The 2023 BMW X1 earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Active blind-spot monitoring is standard, and it includes an exit warning function to help alert occupants to approaching hazards when opening the door. The standard front-collision warning system also includes pedestrian- and cyclist detection with brake intervention.

BMW’s Driving Assistant Professional is available and adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go. A 360-degree surround-view camera system is available as part of the Premium Enhanced Package, and Active Park Distance Control, Back-Up Assistant, and Parking Assistant Plus are also available.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new third-generation X1 brings more capability and plenty of cargo space, while also feeling zippy and fun enough to suit the BMW badge.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, practicality, and current market value, the 2023 X1 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep watching listings for a lower-than-average asking price, since the market already shows some softness and there is enough inventory to compare options carefully.
