Used 2023 BMW X1 for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2023 BMW X1 cost?

Prices have softened 12.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 251 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW X1 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The X1’s appeal is rooted in its small luxury crossover mission: it blends a zippy, fun driving character with added capability and plenty of cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want something that feels more engaging than many rivals while still being useful every day.

Trade-offs: Some advanced safety features are not standard, and the features many shoppers are likely to want can push the price up significantly.

With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The X1’s reliability case is helped by its all-new, third-generation design and its emphasis on everyday usefulness alongside premium materials and standard all-wheel drive. Its powertrain is described as stronger and more refined, and the expert assessment highlights a fun, confident driving character rather than any obvious mechanical weakness.

The performance notes also point to a well-developed package, with a revised 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder, a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and upgraded suspension and damping systems. BMW also recommends Premium fuel.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about how much the higher-spec features and options may cost to maintain or replace over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW X1?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is distinctly premium, with the BMW Curved Display, standard LED headlights and taillights, and SensaTec 2.0 seat coverings. The M Sport Package adds a stitched SensaTec dashboard, more heavily bolstered sport seats, and an M leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, while the Premium Essential Package adds auto-dimming and folding side mirrors plus a panoramic moonroof.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is part of the package. It is rated at 9.6 L/100 km in the city, 7.0 on the highway, and 8.4 combined.
• Safety package: Active blind-spot monitoring is standard and includes exit warning. Standard front-collision warning includes pedestrian and cyclist detection with brake intervention. Driving Assistant Professional adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.7-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 9.6 L/100 km in the city, 7.0 on the highway, and 8.4 combined.

Which 2023 BMW X1 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW X1 is offered in 1 trim level: xDrive28i.

Here's the short version:

The xDrive28i is the only trim, so your decision is really about how many options you want to add. It already gives you the core X1 formula: standard all-wheel drive, a premium-feeling cabin, strong performance, and the latest BMW Curved Display tech. If you want the best-value path, this is it, because there isn’t a lower trim to step up from.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that active blind-spot monitoring is standard, while Driving Assistant Professional and the 360-degree surround-view camera system are optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X1?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,812 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $34,812 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,952 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The X1’s strong mix of brand appeal, standard all-wheel drive, and premium presentation should help it remain attractive to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 safe?

The 2023 BMW X1 earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Active blind-spot monitoring is standard, and it includes exit warning to help alert occupants to approaching hazards when opening a door. Standard front-collision warning also includes pedestrian and cyclist detection with brake intervention.

BMW’s Driving Assistant Professional is available and adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go. A 360-degree surround-view camera system is available as part of the Premium Enhanced Package, and Active Park Distance Control, Back-Up Assistant, and Parking Assistant Plus are also available.

One caveat is that some advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to shop carefully if you want the fullest driver-assistance setup.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new third-generation X1 brings more capability and plenty of cargo space while keeping the zippy, fun driving character that defines it.

The bottom line: If you want the newest X1 formula with strong performance, standard all-wheel drive, and a premium feel, the 2023 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the softer market and decent deal availability make it worth waiting for a well-priced listing rather than paying top of range.
