Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 353 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,538 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $36,800 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,087 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may need to be realistic if they want to move quickly. If the market stays balanced, resale value should remain supported by the model’s broad appeal, but you should not expect a strong appreciation story in the near term. The current price trend also gives buyers a bit more leverage today, which can affect what you recover later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,106 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $36,800 CAD average.
• It offers stronger value and quicker payback.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,640 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $36,800 CAD average.
• It adds a newer infotainment system and a Woodland Edition.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the best balance of price movement, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want newer tech and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the more appealing upgrade.
