How much does the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross cost?

There are 128 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross a good car?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross earns an 6/10 expert rating, and its strongest category score is Safety at 8/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The overview points to a compact SUV that leans on bold styling and a low starting price, but the expert assessment says it is dated, underwhelming, and outclassed by stronger rivals. That makes it a better fit if you value distinctive design and affordability over the latest tech or a more polished driving experience.

Only 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop carefully to find the best value.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross reliable?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is described as having a long warranty and a powertrain that should be familiar across the range, which can help reduce uncertainty for used buyers. The expert assessment also notes that the underlying hardware feels dated, which suggests the vehicle is not especially cutting-edge but may be straightforward in day-to-day use.

Its 10-year, 160,000-kilometre warranty is a meaningful ownership perk if you are buying used and want extra coverage confidence. Even so, the dated technology and modest performance mean you should pay close attention to condition, maintenance history, and whether the vehicle has been used in a way that matches your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The ES is the most basic version, with 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, manual heated seats, automatic climate control, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, an 8-inch touchscreen, rain-sensing wipers, two USB ports, four speakers, and forward collision mitigation. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, so the base model is the one most likely to feel sparse.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and standard all-wheel drive. It feels fine around town, but it is not especially strong on the highway.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking are standard. Lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view parking monitor are not standard and require a higher trim.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Canada. The system has real buttons and knobs, but it still feels dated compared with newer rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates are 9.6 L/100 km in the city, 8.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is offered in 4 trim levels: ES, SE, SEL, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and can live with the most basic equipment. You still get the core safety tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard all-wheel-drive powertrain.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades like blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, heated and power-folding mirrors, push-button start, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and more speakers.
• SEL: Choose this if you want a more comfort- and convenience-focused version, with LED headlamps, a power driver’s seat, faux-suede seats, adaptive cruise control, a multi-view camera, heated rear seats, and a head-up display.
• GT: This is the most luxurious version, with full leather seats, an eight-speaker premium stereo, a power passenger seat, navigation, and the panoramic roof package with dual sunroofs.

The safety package starts with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, while features like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view monitor move up the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some room to shop around without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,025 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross's resale value?

The current average of $21,042 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,814 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Eclipse Cross has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may remain under pressure unless the market shifts or the vehicle is priced very competitively.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross safe?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. If you want lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, or a surround-view parking monitor, you’ll need to move up the trim ladder.

The safety story is strongest if you shop beyond the base model, since several useful driver-assistance features are not standard. That means you should check the exact trim and equipment list carefully before you buy.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.64% compared with last year.
• The 2022 model year brings updated styling and improved infotainment, while still keeping the low starting price that defines the Eclipse Cross.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this design and you find a well-priced example, the 2022 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a later search for the best deal may make more sense than focusing on this specific year alone.

How does the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross compare to the 2022 Mazda CX-30?

Our experts score the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 6/10 and the 2022 Mazda CX-30 8/10.

The Eclipse Cross is the cheaper option, with a lower average used price and fewer listings to choose from. The CX-30 brings more power, better overall expert scoring, and a stronger deal share, which makes it the more compelling all-around pick if you can stretch your budget. The Eclipse Cross still has the advantage if you want a lower entry price and are comfortable giving up refinement and performance.
