The current average of $23,990 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,126 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the HR-V has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if market conditions stay similar. The current price range still shows healthy demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean histories. Because the model has a strong reputation for practicality and owner satisfaction, it should continue to attract shoppers who value usefulness over flash.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,939 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,990 CAD average.
• It brings a full redesign with a more modern platform and updated styling.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a proven, practical package. If you’re price-sensitive, it makes the most sense to focus on the 2022; if you want the newer redesign and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the stronger upgrade path.
