Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 15.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 134 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.86/5 owner-rated SUV with an expert score of 7.17/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the powerful engine, spacious interior, large cargo area, comfortable seating, and helpful safety features. That lines up well with the Traverse’s role as a three-row SUV for families who want lots of space without stepping up to a larger, truck-based SUV.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the ride can be noisy, it can float on uneven pavement, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, if you want a practical family hauler with broad everyday appeal, the Traverse’s mix of space and usability makes sense.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in the ways that matter most for family use, especially when it comes to the spacious cabin, strong engine, and helpful safety features. The user feedback also points to a trouble-free, confidence-inspiring ownership experience for many shoppers.

The Traverse’s powertrain is presented as straightforward and durable, with a single V6 and a 9-speed automatic that should be easy to live with over the long term. Chevrolet also positions it as a practical, cost-effective alternative to a larger SUV, which can help keep ownership expectations realistic.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some of the comfort and refinement compromises may become more noticeable as the vehicle ages, especially if you’re sensitive to road noise or interior wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS starts with a 7-inch touchscreen and is the only trim where the Safety Package is optional; that package adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add more standard safety equipment, and the RS, Premier, and High Country bring additional driver-assistance features.
• Powertrain: You get one engine choice: a 3.6-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. It’s a good fit for the Traverse’s size, and the SUV can tow up to 2,268 kilograms when properly equipped.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The optional Safety Package on the LS adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: LS models get a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions use an 8-inch high-definition touch-sensing display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth for two smartphones and connected services including a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 11.3 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, True North, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Traverse’s space and standard safety tech at the lowest price. Just note that the Safety Package is optional here, so you’ll want to check whether the extra driver-assistance features are included.
• LT: This is the trim to watch if you want a better-equipped Traverse without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds more standard equipment than the LS and can be optioned with the upgraded safety features, making it a strong value choice for many shoppers.
• True North: This trim sits above the LT and gives you another step up in equipment if you want more content without going all the way to the RS or luxury-oriented trims.
• RS: This is the sportier-looking choice, with blacked-out trim and 20-inch wheels. It also gets the Bose premium sound system as standard, plus additional safety and convenience features that make it appealing if you want a more distinctive Traverse.
• Premier: This is the upscale pick if you want more comfort and convenience, including the 8-inch digital instrumentation panel and the exclusive Safety Alert Seat.
• High Country: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most premium Traverse experience, with the same advanced safety and comfort upgrades as Premier and the highest-positioned trim in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while the optional Safety Package is limited to the LS and becomes standard on the other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 134 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,058 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $33,482 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,732 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has softened, which can work in your favour if you’re buying now but may put pressure on future resale if you plan to sell soon. A lower current average often means sellers need to be more realistic on asking price, especially if the vehicle is not especially rare or highly optioned.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that the Traverse’s value will likely depend on condition, trim, and equipment more than on broad market momentum. Well-equipped examples with desirable safety and convenience features should be easier to position than bare-bones versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns Good ratings in most IIHS categories, but it is Acceptable in the new side impact test and Poor for its new LED headlights and seatbelt reminders.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all Traverse trim levels and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The optional Safety Package on the LS adds rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert, while those features are standard on all other trims.

One important caveat is that the Traverse does not offer a more advanced system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist. If that kind of semi-automated driving support matters to you, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model year brings standard Chevy Safety Assist across the lineup, plus a broad mix of family-friendly space, easy-to-use technology, and strong everyday practicality.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy three-row SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price than last year, the 2022 Traverse is the sensible pick. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping for the best-equipped example you can find in the lower end of the range, since the market still offers enough inventory to compare trims and features carefully.
