Owners describe the 2022 BMW X5 as reliable in the sense that it delivers a smooth ride and a high-quality interior that many feel confident living with day to day. Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X5?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market, especially if you are comparing listings carefully and moving quickly on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 42.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 177 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,334 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $47,334 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,363 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you purchase at today's average, your future resale value will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is equipped, maintained, and presented. A lower entry price can help offset depreciation, but a softer market means you should be realistic about what you may recover later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 42.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $43,943 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $47,334 CAD average.
• It offers a broad mix of space, comfort, technology, and engine choices.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market value signal and a model year with excellent owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better path because it costs less while still delivering the X5’s core strengths.
