Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X1?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Inventory: There are 223 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,844 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $25,844 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,397 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters more than usual. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,731 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,844 CAD average.
• The 2023 is all-new and third-generation, with more cargo space and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2022 is the stronger starting point because pricing has dropped and deal availability is decent. If you can stretch for the 2023 and want the newer-generation package, that makes sense for buyers who prioritise the latest design and added utility over upfront savings.
