There are 274 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of choice.

Is the 2021 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — owners give it 4.8/5, which is a strong sign that it delivers on what shoppers want. Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and broad feature set, and many also value the available AWD for added confidence in changing weather. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV for everyday use. With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially for everyday use. The Sportage’s established reputation as a practical crossover adds to that impression, particularly if you plan to keep it for the long term. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing a well-maintained example that matches your comfort and feature priorities.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,167 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $19,281 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,763 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Sportage easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current softness means you should expect a more value-focused market rather than a strong appreciation story. Even so, the model’s broad feature set and comfortable driving character help it stay relevant with used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,816 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $19,281 CAD average.
• It adds a more current-feeling design and updated trim content.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and are focused on comfort, features, and AWD confidence. If you can stretch for the 2022, it makes sense for buyers who want to pay more for a newer model-year experience and updated equipment.
