Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — owners give it 5/5, and that lines up with the Traverse’s strong appeal as a family-focused crossover. The recurring positives in owner feedback centre on its spacious interior, excellent driving experience, and strong value for money. That fits well if you want a roomy three-row SUV with easy-to-use technology and everyday comfort. With 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with satisfaction tied to its spacious cabin, useful features, and overall ease of ownership. The Traverse’s reputation is helped by the fact that newer versions are better than the original, which matters if you want a used SUV you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that reliability has historically lagged some competitors, so a careful inspection and service-history review are especially worthwhile.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,298 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $29,325 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,369 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has already absorbed some of its recent depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong demand for roomy family SUVs can also support resale interest, especially when the vehicle is well equipped and presents cleanly. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,243 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $29,325 CAD average.
• It better suits buyers who want a more clearly positioned alternative to a full-size SUV.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better value if you want the Traverse’s space, comfort, and family-friendly practicality at a lower price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-year alternative, the 2022 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2021.
