The model’s reputation is helped by its strong overall satisfaction and the sense that it delivers a trouble-free premium driving experience for many buyers. Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW X3?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market for the 2021 BMW X3, especially if you are comparing multiple listings and waiting for the right price.

• Deal availability: 40.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 165 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,146 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $31,595 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,256 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, the softer current pricing means there may be less upside than there was a year ago, so resale gains could be more limited unless the vehicle is especially well kept. Even so, the X3’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 40.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,153 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $31,595 CAD average.
• It adds a substantial mid-cycle refresh with more technology and safety features.

The bottom line: Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its existing feature set. Consider the 2022 if you want the updated design and added equipment, and you are willing to pay more for the refresh. If price matters most, the 2021 is the smarter starting point; if you want the newer package, the 2022 is the better upgrade path.
