Is the 2021 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 3 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise the sharp handling, powerful performance, luxurious interior, and useful safety features. Many also like the fuel economy and trunk space, which makes this sedan appealing if you want a premium car that still works well for everyday driving. The broad range of versions in this model year also helps if you want something efficient, sporty, or more performance-focused.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free for many drivers, with praise centred on the overall ownership experience and the confidence it inspires over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept of the car and more about finding one that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 138 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,348 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $32,534 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,095 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If prices stay near this level, future sellers may need to compete more on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than relying on broad market appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $33,858 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $32,534 CAD average.
• It delivers a well-rounded, engaging drive with strong everyday comfort.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,756 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,534 CAD average.
• It adds minor equipment refinements while keeping the same core formula.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best primary target if you want the strongest mix of price, owner satisfaction, and market availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 still looks more attractive than the nearby years because it undercuts both while keeping the same premium-sedan appeal.
