Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time, especially when it comes to overall dependability and the confidence to count on it. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and signs of wear, since long-term ownership risk is always higher when a vehicle has already seen several years of use.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,787 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $21,831 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,339 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you purchase at the current average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A lower entry price can help cushion depreciation, but you should still expect value to move with broader market demand.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $29,835 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,831 CAD average.
• It was completely redesigned, giving it a more conventional SUV look and feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable with the older design. If you want the redesigned look and can stretch your budget, the 2021 is the stronger upgrade; price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020 and shop for a well-priced example.
