Is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, smooth ride, and powerful performance, and many also like its comfort and handling in challenging weather conditions. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy, easy-to-live-with family SUV with practical everyday usability. With 37.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth ride and comfort over time. That said, some owners mention concerns about price and potential body damage, so you should still inspect any used example carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, especially if the vehicle has seen heavy family use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 109 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,496 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $25,496 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,350 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has softened in the used market, which can make it easier for you to buy now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the trend continues. If you plan to sell later, you should expect value retention to depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A well-kept example with desirable equipment should still appeal to family buyers looking for space and practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want a spacious, comfortable family SUV and you find a well-priced example with the right condition and history. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 remains a sensible choice when you value cabin space and everyday usability.
