We absolutely love our XT5. We had a Tahoe V8 LTZ and the XT5’s V6 engine outperforms the Tahoe’s V8. Such a smooth ride and luxurious interior. Sound system is unbelievable! My favorite vehicle we have bought so far!

Is the 2020 Cadillac XT5 a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Cadillac XT5 earns a 4.92/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, comfortable ride, smooth drive, great performance, and impressive sound system. The 33.7% share of good or great deals also suggests there are worthwhile listings to consider.
Is the 2020 Cadillac XT5 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.92/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable, comfortable, and easy to live with over time. That kind of satisfaction usually matters most when you want a used SUV you can count on for steady daily use.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a well-kept example, since condition will matter more than the model’s overall reputation.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Cadillac XT5?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find meaningful value.
- Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.02% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $25,923 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Cadillac XT5's resale value?
The current average of $28,157 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,962 CAD.
That price movement suggests the XT5 has softened enough to create a more approachable entry point for buyers today. For a future seller, that can mean you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft. The current range still leaves room for stronger examples to hold value better than average.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.02% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $30,445 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,157 CAD average.
- It adds more high-tech features and a more finely appointed feel.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a wider pool of discounted listings. Consider the 2021 if you’re willing to pay more for a more polished feature set and a slightly newer model year.
