Is the 2019 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2019 BMW 3 Series blends performance with everyday usability, and the sixth-generation design gives you a wide range of body styles and powertrains, plus rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and manual or automatic transmission choices. It also offers modern infotainment and, on many examples, active-safety features, though the cabin can feel tight and ownership costs can be significant. With 26.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is described as better than the generation before it, but the earliest examples from this run still have a mixed reputation, so condition and maintenance history matter a great deal. Because the model is complex and can carry significant ownership costs, a thorough pre-purchase inspection is especially important for used buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 161 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,630 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $24,781 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,629 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current range suggests the market is still sorting out value, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter when it comes time to resell. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a premium compact sedan with broad capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $33,056 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $24,781 CAD average.
• It adds a stronger, more polished driving experience with a standout M340i.

The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and maintenance history. Consider the 2020 if you want to spend more for a more refined and engaging premium-sedan experience.
