CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura RDX
Summary
With 39 currently listed for sale near Laval, QC and an average price of $24,988 CAD, 20.5% of 2019 Acura RDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Acura RDX 4.42 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura RDX marked a clear reset for Acura’s compact luxury SUV, blending the sporty character of the original model with the practicality buyers expect from a modern crossover. It uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s torque-vectoring SH-AWD system. That combination gives the RDX a more energetic feel at low revs and a handling advantage that helps it stand out on twisty roads. It also offers a useful amount of cargo space, with up to 2,260 litres available with the rear seats folded, though that figure requires moving the front seats all the way forward.
The 2019 model also brought a more upscale and better-equipped cabin than the RDX had before. Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System added drive modes for Snow, Comfort, Sport, and Sport+, while the standard equipment list included LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition, heated and power front seats, faux leather seating surfaces, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were standard, and the AcuraWatch safety package was also included, bringing forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The main drawback is the True Touchpad Interface infotainment system, which ran on a 10.2-inch display and was an improvement over older setups, but still not especially intuitive.

For a 2019, this SUV has great features and feels truly like a luxury vehicle.

Firstly, the 2019 RDX has become one of my favourite SUVs available for multiple reasons. It has all the main features included in present-day vehicles such as; lane assist, crash detection, blindspot assist, etc. Apple CarPlay integration is huge for an Apple-dominant home and it plays music almost perfectly through the ELS STUDIO 3D sound system. Secondly, the drivability of the RDX is great; its comfortable and works its way up into a sporty drive when switching the drive modes. Living in Canada means harsh winters and the SH-AWD gives my Lady and I confidence in every condition when equipped with good winter tires. I thought the RDX was a bit pricey when we picked up the car in 2021 but now owning the car for a couple of years, I think we made the right choice. It still has a great road presence because its aesthetically aggressive and sharp. Panoramic Roof, the front grille and the jewel lights are my favourite visual parts of this design. Couple things I would love to have though: HUD, Wireless CarPlay, Eco Mode (Not Automatic Engine Off). The reason I am not giving this platform a 5-star rating is because of the issues Ive faced in ownership. Ive had one recall involving the fuel system which wasnt bad but the timing was horrible. My glorious panoramic roof occasionally pops when the vehicle body endures bumps or uneven road surfaces. This one is big; the rearview glass is notorious for shattering because of a faulty design from the manufacturer. I was really hoping Acura would recall these beautiful SUVs and correct the error but that isnt the case as yet. Even with newer models, the problems seem to persist so be ready for this. Even with these problems, I believe this still holds the title of my favourite SUV. Might even upgrade to a newer model but Im more attracted to the 2019s sharper lines compared to the 2022s facelift smoother look. Id say amongst its competitors; BMW X4, X5, Lexus RX, Mercedes GLC, etc Id still opted to choose the Acura.

This car is comfortable and quick! Best ride of all the small SUVs I test drove. Fun to drive and feels very safe. Was surprised the ‘technology’ package does not have navigation-you have to utilize through your phone, which I haven’t quite figured out.

How much does the 2019 Acura RDX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $27,592 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $27,592 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $30,249 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,541 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.60% |
Prices have softened 6.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 172 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX a good car?
Generally — the 4.42/5 user rating points to a well-liked SUV. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfort, and performance, and many also highlight the powerful turbo engine and the smooth, quiet ride. The RDX also fits well if you want a practical luxury SUV with a rich interior and everyday usefulness. With 23.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on the RDX’s comfort and performance over time. That said, the infotainment system is a recurring frustration, so your long-term ownership risk is more about day-to-day usability than major confidence in the vehicle itself.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura RDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 172 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,592 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $27,592 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,541 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect competitive pricing rather than a premium. The RDX’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but condition and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,068 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,592 CAD average.
- It adds more content at a lower price than some rivals.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the better primary pick if you want the strongest value and a well-liked ownership experience. If you are price-sensitive, it is worth comparing carefully against the 2020, but the 2019’s lower average price and healthy deal availability make it the more compelling starting point.
