Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 24.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 446 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $21,414 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,160 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the RAV4’s strong reputation for practicality and reliability should help it stay appealing to future shoppers. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organised, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 24.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $26,667 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $21,414 CAD average.
• It adds bolder styling and a more upscale cabin.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better value if you want a proven, practical RAV4 with strong owner approval and a lower entry price. If you are willing to spend more for newer styling and a more modern feel, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 is the smarter starting point.
