Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

The owner feedback points to a truck that many people find dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to comfort, power, and overall value. For long-term ownership, your risk is more about finding a well-kept truck than worrying about a broad pattern of major dissatisfaction.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,461 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,980 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $21,980 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,930 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price and keep the truck in good condition, you may be better positioned than someone buying near the top of the range. Demand should remain supported by the model’s comfort and utility appeal, especially among shoppers who want a refined full-size pickup.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.24% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2018 RAM 1500 is the better fit if you want a well-liked, comfort-focused full-size truck at a softer used price. If you are more price-sensitive, you can also use the broader market to compare nearby years and look for the best deal rather than focusing only on this one model year.
